There was a point in this video where Andrew mentioned that young kids could watch his videos and that is very true. My Grandsons 8 and 4 sit curled up with their Dad and watch Andrew do his work. I have watched and enjoyed Andrews videos for over five years. Each video delivered what I was hoping for which was Andrew doing what Andrew does. Create, design and WORK,WORK,WORK on every inch of his 90 acre mountain retreat. I turned 80 at the end of November 22. Sad to say my big project days are over, but watching Andrew attack each project with his army of equipment and his faithful dogs takes me back forty years to my ambitious youth. Fairly new to Andrew's channel. Not only do I enjoy watching the work he does, but find him easy to watch because of his aura of innocuousness, inoffensiveness, simplicity, and purity. Don't know if he is all those things, but he comes across that way. He exhibits a degree of naivete in his actions, but they aren't borne of ignorance, just simplicity. Sometimes he has to start over, but he gets it done. Add to all that the fact he loves dogs. Based on the number of subscribers and views it is apparent that a lot of people are drawn to what he possesses, or doesn't possess. The fact he hasn't allowed himself to sell out to corporate or media pressure is only an example of his character.

I stumbled across this video just looking for something interesting to watch. Although I watches others as well, but Andrew is at the top of the list. I think it's because of his practical approach to describing how a thing works... even when he's not sure himself, he doesn't try to fake his way about it One thing that really impressed me about him, was being stopped by the highway patrol officer because his truck was not properly licensed to be on the streets working, Andrew got on the case and corrected all the violations and he even presented them to his subscribers, now that impressed me.

A very nice watch. Well done! Have to say I'm a fairly unexpected fan of Andrew Camarata. Or his work, I should say, rather. No BS. No clickbait thumbnails. No begging for likes and subscriptions. No name-dropping of companies or other youtubers. No sneaky promos. No begging for people to fund his life and hobbies through Patreon, or worse. He just gets on with things, mostly calm and collected, and takes everything in his stride. The amount of stuff I've learnt from watching his videos about fixing, operating and maintaining stuff is mind-blowing. So, very nice to see a little more of the person behind. Though, expectedly, he is just the same guy as comes across in all his videos :)

Good interview. I forget who it was that I subscribed to first but it was either Andrew or Essential Craftsman. For me, the appeal about Andrew is his attitude. I always remember the video he did installing a drain field and the inspector or the owner (I forget which) made him re-do it like 3 or 4 times, by no fault of his. But he persisted and just did it. Most people (likely including myself) would have told them to shove it and walked away, but he didn’t. He just pressed on and finished it. Very impressive attitude.

You did a great job on this. I'm a little envious you were able to spend time there talking to him. It was very interesting getting to hear a lot of what Andrew had to say and you asked a lot of things that I've wondered myself. I think one of the biggest things that makes him so likable is that he's not afraid to be himself. He does and says what he wants, and he clearly didn't let a lot of things bother him as comes across as a very unstressed person. He lives a true life of freedom, doesn't care much of materialistic things, has a lot of great ideas on how things should be built and work, and he's incredibly intelligent. He's a true jack of all trades. There's also something about how he puts his videos together. I never thought I'd spend over an hour watching a guy work on a piece of equipment and be thoroughly entertained. Plus, who doesn't like a guy who uses a chainsaw to install a radio in his truck? Lol. Thank you for doing this.

Andrew does what most of us men would have wanted to do at some point in our lives, but now that we are too old or that seems so unlikely, we live it through him. Watching a Camarata video is major therapy. It is so satisfying to see someone finish what he started. The dogs are a bonus, especially the playful, annoying scientist Cody.
