Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline grew up about 30 minutes from Charleston, South Carolina and her family still calls the area home. "When we go shoot Outer Banks, which we shoot in Charleston, I get to see my family. So there's a lot of really special memories wrapped up in that city." Growing up in a smaller town is such an experience; especially a small south Caroline town. Throughout your childhood, you want to do nothing but get out but as you grow up and see new places, your love for your hometown expands so much. You appreciate it and the memories more. Charleston is not a "small town" compared to other places in SC, but I really enjoyed hearing Madelyn talk about the unique culture and community of it. Definitely makes me miss my smaller town of Rock Hill, SC and it's quirky aspects!

So great! Only want to share that when she talks about Isle of Palms and the restaurants/frose there, she’s actually referencing Sullivan’s Island which is right next to IOP. The frose place is called the co-op!

If you want another option for really good oysters, Bowens Island is a really good place too but they only have oysters when they are in season which is months that end in "er" (I think....someone correct me if I'm wrong). OBX shoots a lot there I have personally seen the twinkie there multiple times. It's also right on the marsh and there's rafting tours there too! It's a shack-like hole in the wall but it's totally worth it!
