So the thing about the orbits being weird is that the developers actually properly stimulated gravity in this game which includes simulating a proper orbit. They said in a documentary that if you leave the simulation on for long enough that the orbits will be messed up because they couldn't get it perfect. But thet didn't really need to since you're technically only meant to have 22 minutes

yeah. Its pretty cool. It even causes the building on the north pole of giants deep moves outside of the giant tornado.

Wondering if you could revisit the growing orbits of the planets. would be interesting to see them collide eventually and what interactions they would have. and what if an exposed brittle hollow black hole can transport a whole planet? giants deep bursting out of the white hole would certainly be a sight

youre right. also, the orbits shrink, but they also grow. so they never end up hitting each other. at least they didnt in the time i was willing to put into it.

@@TheLoreExplorer hmmm i feel like theres more to do here. i want to calculate the upper and lower bounds of the orbit growth/shrink. and how is the interlopers orbit affected? theres too many questions i have. the way i see it is that the black holes in game are very DEFINITE objects. coming near one garauntees that you fall in, whether you're a blue guy or a space ship or some dirt. i dont think it would be as simple as a planet would phase through it with no collision. i think the devs would have coded a blanket "EVERYTHING WHICH GOES THROUGH HERE COMES OUT HERE" because why would they anticipate two planets colliding. also not my first comment it turns out haha i smoke alot of weed and keep coming back apparently

the interloper is gone by the time this can happen. To do this you have to go something crazy like 1700 km away from the solar system, then come all the way back. And they made the planets not have collision with eachother and the orbital probe cannons probe, as it will hit planets sometimes. And im imagining that immediately causes the game to overload and crash.

@@TheLoreExplorer i was going to try and recreate the crazy orbit glitch to get the 1700km distance travelled and check the itnerloper. suppose the cannons/collision makes sense. ILL JUST WAIT FOR OUTER WILDS 2 THEN

I wish you had got some shots of the sun in red giant phase with the shortest ash/ember twin orbit (from the shrinking orbit segment) from the surface of ember/ash twin, great video eitherway

problem is to get the orbits i had to make it so the sun doesnt explode. I did go to ember twins to get some footage of the sun up close. got so close the sun pulled me off!

iiiii did not know there was a quantum cave with skeletons in it. So many things I have yet to discover in this game even after beating it.

that quantum cave was suppose to teach you 1 of the 3 rules for the quantum moon. its why its so hard to get to if you dont know the rule already

The messed up orbit is due to all the planets being physics objects and actually orbiting the sun. It’s not meant to run for too long, which is why the orbit decays when the sun doesn’t explode.

but they dont just decay. Their orbit shortens, then re lengthens. its really odd but awesome!

I feel like it breaks the lore that you can land the shuttle on the quantum moon and the shuttle doesn't entangle with it and start moving around on the moon and with the moon like it did after Solanum landed on there. Then again, the same should be true of your ship as well.

Objects only become entangled when they've been around a quantum source for a very long amount of time
