@@jeb123 definitely, as sad as it is, signs point to the characters in the end scene only being a memory or recollection of those you met in the solar system rather than literally being there themselves.

@@jeb123 It's him in the same way Solanum is them. The way the Eye works makes Death itself a matter of perspective - hence why Solanum is still alive, but also not. This is also what happens to the Hearthian in one of the endings. By entering the Eye as a conscious observer, you've stabilized all possibilities - and these include Solanum and the Prisoner being alive.

Yeah, I listened to him and Solanum together without the folk-y band for what must've been five minutes or so, because of how beautiful it was. The two aliens whose species had the saddest outcomes, it tugs my heartstrings in a way I didn't know possible to hear them play together alone.

I love this melody. Its haunting as you feel a sense of an echo. How it cries out into the song.. alone, its incomplete and yet invites a chorus to join them. There's a sense of remorse and heart poured into such a simple song.. as if it overcomes the cautious fear that trapped it so long.

The ending of this game is absolutely beautiful. 3 different species banding together with the sweet sound of music. I guess the possibilities for the next universe are going to be music and marshmallows.

I actually let this play for hours the other night and just relaxed to it. The Eye only forms after talking to everyone, so I left out Gabbro since I feel he adds the least to the overall melody

Not everyone may agree with me on this but if you think about it- The prisoner is the cause everything that leads up to this. Without them briefly turning off the hammer, the Nomai would have not come to the solar system, and made the Ash Twin Project or the probe launcher that would enable the hatchling to find the vessel and go to the eye.

That's exactly the point. It explains why the nomai were there, and why they stopped seeing the signal (since they turned it back off)

There’s been some debate about this, with many pointing out that the onsets of the notes of the Prisoner’s instrument are too quick to be from a real theremin (although if it was done with synth then that would be different). For this reason, some have argued that it is done with a musical saw, although I myself am skeptical about this one because the notes seem too distinct, as if played with frets, which do not exist on a musical saw. Perhaps the intended sound is meant to be a combination of those instruments. Either way, I like it.
