trinitymark521 that’s a big part of why I decided to do a video. I didn’t see anyone else mention marking the sun station either. Be sure you’ve visited the place by teleporting first so you can mark it.

Ejecting was always killing me so at some point I decided to get out of the ship manually and once I did that it was a pretty intense race with the sun station. Marking the station's entrance was very helpful. and It felt very rewarding to get this achievement

Thanks, that was helpful! The only think I'd add is that it also helps to lock onto the Sun as well, to see distance and relative speed. (Then obviously switching target to the station's entrance when you get close enough.)

I found an easier method If you fly above the Ember Twins north pole and lock your velocity with it, you can orbit yourself around the sun by following the ember Twins orbit, which makes it much easier to match the speed of the sun station as well as keep orbit with the sun

Thanks for the help. Showing the approach really helped me and the voiceover as well. For some reason I was not having any luck ejecting (I would fly too far off course). I ended up docking my ship right on the door and then just unbuckling and rushing to the exit (maybe I got lucky). 3 hours for this trophy but the satisfaction level was like few trophies I've ever experienced!

It’s pure chance! The main reason this worked when you did it was because of your position in relation to the sun - if you had been ejected that direction and the sun station was at a slightly different angle to the sun it would have landed straight into it. Such an infuriating achievement!!!

I never actually managed to lock on to the sun station so I had to do it without matching velocity but after a lot of trial and error I managed to do it. I even did it before realizing I could warp there.

Learning from this video that you can barrel roll when flying your ship made this achievement soooo much easier. I knew how to get there with the landing cam but trying to get out of the ship was too slow and I'd bw too far away from the station when I got out. Being able to barrel roll and not having to go sideways is soooo much more convenient and makes this so much easier. Almost got it on my first try after seeing you roll your ship and figuring out how to do that myself. Was getting frustrated because I couldn't figure out how to do that or if it's even a thing. Thanks! (I don't know how I never figured this out after finding everything that can be found, getting to the vessel and avoiding all the angler fish, and landing on the tower of quantum knowledge when it's outside the white hole... Would have helped there as well)

I liked a lot of videos before this one thinking they'd shown me the way, but this is the one to finally get me to the station! THANK YOU! Now I just need to beat the game on the first loop for the Plat. Unfortunately, landing on the Sun Station had me so frustrated that it's been 9 months since I've really played the game, and I don't want to just look up a guide on how to beat it again. 2 months is pretty long so you might have beaten it already but I'll comment it in case it's useful for anyone else: while you're waiting for the sand to fall it's useful to grab the escape pod frequency from ember twin. then you can find the escape pod in DB, follow the trail and shoot your probe through the node, which basically gives you a marker to where the vessel is.

I managed to reach the station once by somehow glitching my ship and sticking it to a part of the destroyed bridge. All I had to do was suit up, get out of my ship, and use the jetpack to get in the station.

You definitely want to be speeding around to catch up with the station. It’s far easier to maintain your level with the horizon as a guide and avoid crashing. Other approaches I’ve seen didn’t work for me.

Screw this I can’t do what you just did with the Sun. Seriously no matter how I accelerate I always either get kicked away or plummet right into the sun. No matter how fast or slow I go. So infuriating that I’ve gotten close to it but it’s impossible for me to understand how the gravity works because you just were able to easily elevate and not be thrown away but I CANNOT DO THAT, I’m so confused.

Yeah, that’s the worse. Some people say they were able to walk around, but in my experience I only ended up getting stuck to the wall, unable to move.

@@VaughnJogVlog i figured that one out actually. If you angle the botten of your ship away from the direction of your orbit you get to walk around a bit. lt's still finnicky to not just catapult yourself into the sun but in my experience it's a bit safer than ejecting.

Thanks to you I finally made it! And it must've been a miracle since I did it without using a gamepad. Oh man... It was nearly imposible. But I got lucky that the sun station appeared nearby me at the perfect moment, when gravity and other factors favored my landing. The second part, which was to stay in the gravitational field and get inside, surprisingly did not cause me much difficulty. I can't say for sure, but it took me 3 hours and more than 50 attempts to finally get it. It was so exhausting in so many ways. I am really jealous of people who have gamepad - I had no facility of regulating the pressure and the power of the shift, but now I can say for sure that it is possible to get that achivement without a gamepad. I am so relived that I don't have to do it again haha. Anyway - thanks buddy for the guide, it helped me so much :D

Correction no the trophy is broken because i landed the whole shuttle on the sun station and it didn't give me the trophy and I know that is supposed to count because I did it that way on Xbox and got the achievement there 2 years ago, this trophy and the archeologist trophy are Broken and unobtainable

I was hopelessly lost at what to do after aligning velocity. Ejecting was a death sentence. I was only able to get it because I crashed the ship so badly it disabled artificial gravity and removed the inertia that typically stops you from being able to leave the ship without ejecting. Total fluke.

I found it easier to immediately mark the sun, line up one of the arrows with the hourglass twins, and wait until I'm about 3500-4000 away from the sun, as soon as I see the sun station I flew right while staring at the sun, this puts you on an almost perfect trajectory with the sun station so I could mark the entrance, still a bitch to do though and took me way too many tries

Man, I love Outer Wilds, but the achievements are awful. The Sun Station just wasn't meant to be approached with the ship. That's the whole point to use the teleporter... Deep Impact achievement is a pain, too, because it relies on a glitch. That said, it was thanks to your tips I've managed to do this! Thank you. If it wasn't for you I'd have given up. I'd like to point out a few things I noticed as well when ejecting: 1) get the part to be ejected as close as possible to the opening. Try to jam it in, even. I was trying from a bit far and that led to hit the wall fast and I kept dying. 2) after eject only unbucle after the ejected part (with you) hits the wall. It's not long; just a split second. But since you move too fast when ejecting you may end up hiting the glass fast and die from impact - use your seatbelts, kids.

I recorded the voice over referencing a prior attempt where I actually had the ship jammed in the entry. That why I say jam it in, but then I did it again and had a much cleaner approach so used that video instead. I’m trying to recall Deep Impact specifically. There is a ton of convoluted stuff to do in this game, with very little instruction. It’s about designed to be played with KZbin.

for deep impact you just have to find the tornado thats spinning opposite of the others and it just shoots you right in

Wait there's an eject button?!?!?!?! I watched another video that showed how to land your ship in a spot where the gravity doesn't mess with it so much that you can get to your hatch. After an hour with those instructions I pulled it off, after trying a similar method to this video for many hours, but couldn't get my orbit right. Even though this view seems more natural. It’s there at your control panels. It’s just not all that intuitive. You have to yank to the side and push it. Once you’re outside and able to lock on, your thrusters can take you home.

It’s not easy to pull off either as you’re going to need to be quick to look for the eject button.

There is a teleporter that takes you there, but the achievement requires you to do it manually.

Yup, you have to go there first. There’s a way to teleport into the sun station. I’m sure you can find a guide on KZbin for that.

Idk if you still read comments, but first off, I never enabled fast travel so I cant even lock onto the sun station and theres no option to turn fast travel back on :( secondly, I've been trying to match my speed with the sun station and everytime I get close to the thing the sun just sucks me in. What am I doing wrong? Please help someone I'ma cry this is my last achievement.

Ok. So it’s not really “fast travel” it’s just a marker indicating places you have been to. So, teleport there through following the story and the station will be trackable when you try to dock with it. As for the sun. It will typically bounce you away or suck you in. If you’re going fast enough to catch up with the station, you will probably need to jam the controls downward to avoid being thrown away. Hope this helps 🍀

@@VaughnJogVlog What do you mean by "jam downwards"? If I press down I go right into the sun. If I press up I get flung away. Using the triggers doesn't save me.
