Valentines day is a day for love, it doesn't matter if its platonic love or romantic, and I honestly find that the best. Any deserves a little gift just because you love them. I love Valentine's Day. The roses, all the heart shapes, the pink and red colors everywhere. Me and my best friend had a my bloody valentine night one year when we were in high school where we made heart shaped cookies with a red filling center and watched horror movies the entire night. I just got out of a relationship with someone that had been involved with me for almost a decade and it's taken a bit of a toll on me though.

I do like Valentine's Day, but I'm a goth girl so I've got to make it dark and spooky. Thus, Valoween was created LOL! I decorate with black trees with red heart lights and black bat ornaments. I love velvet and lace for clothing around this holiday and I spend it with my partner of 14 years. We make it like a spa day and date night. I also love to cook and bake. Valentine's day has always been a bit eh for me. I can take it or leave it. In my opinion valentine’s day is more like an opportunity to show your partner love. It’s a sweet cheesy thing. When you love someone, it should give you joy to take care of them and to show them your love every day of the year, no matter the gender. And it’s up to you and your partner what that means. For example I’m gonna ask my boyfriend to be my valentine and I’m gonna make a lil surprise for him with roses, massage and few other things. I’m thinking about writing the list of reasons what I love about him and why he’s my person. He’s not a social person for example and he doesn’t like restaurants, cinema and stuff like that, so maybe we plan an indoor picnic/bake something together or do a board/video game night! As you can see it doesn’t have to be expensive and complicated, it’s up to you and your girl what you two like! :) sounds like you don’t like the idea of gift giving or showing appreciation? Or is it just a fear of not being enough?
