This song will always give me nostalgia because it was a turning point in my life. My mom is white and and my father is black, my mom is from a family where having a child with a black man was considered Taboo until around 2010ish (I was born in 1994) so as a result when my mom would bring me to family events, she would be treated almost as an “outcast”. So naturally she showed me “OutKast” music and it became a thing for her to play their songs in the house while cleaning and I would dance. This culminated when my mom got invited to a wedding when I was about 8 years old, and she got the DJ to play this song, and despite all the reservations they had about black people, nobody could deny that I took over the floor and became the life of the party. Almost all the kids and adults were dancing. I hardly remember it, but some distant family members and my cousins still talk about it till this day, and multiple people even took pictures (sadly this was before video was as popular lol). My mom claims it was a turning point for the family and that I might have been the first step towards ending the subtle racism it was known for lol 🤷🏽♂️😂

This time in 2003, the other half of Atlanta-based Outkast came out with this superb hit. Music lovers liked the way Outkast and company moved back then. Big Boi's rendition was flawless.

That guitar riff bridge to kick off the chorus is perfect. The chorus is otherworldly and amazing. I just listened to four Outkast albums and didn't hear a single bad song.
