Candy obviously didnt know Frank threatened to take Brianna away from Claire, if Claire left him ...when Claire asked for a divorce years ago, when she found out about Candy. Therefore Candy is just looking someone to blame, shameless hussy, Frank was going to leave Claire in the end so Candy did have Frank finally that should comfort her.👍
@airbear82406 жыл бұрын
woopingcough I always felt really bad for Claire when she came back and was trying to make it work, she agreed whole heartedly to Franks agreement. While I admired Frank greatly for being willing to take in another mans child and raising it as his own, I felt it was really selfish of him to not consider Claire's needs and from the moment they agreed to live separate lives they should have gotten a divorce. He went out of his way to purposely hurt Claire, by rubbing her nose in the fact that their was another woman. I mean when she wanted to go so a show, he could have gone again, instead he refused and inviting someone over on a day he knew was important to her? He had to have known the dinner reservations were at 7. These instances made me start to dislike him, then when he asked for divorce and started talking about moving with Brianna to London, I thought you are an Ass, you didn't want a Divorce when Brianna was younger out of fear that you wouldn't be able to see her, then you turn the tables when she is older and it suites you 😡?
@sweetyetunrefined93356 жыл бұрын
In the books, Claire actually does say so. Frank actually has many affairs over the years, but Claire just let it happen, because she knew she couldn't give him what he wanted. One of the "ladies" came to Claire's house begging her to divorce Frank and giving the speech Candy gave, and that's when Claire let her have it. The woman Frank wants to marry and move to England with never meets or interacts with Claire, though when Frank tells her she says something along the lines of "Well, this one must really be putting pressure on you." I'm guessing they put all of that into one character because they had to move the story along to get to the main plot of the season.

This conversation never occurred in the book, it was merely suggested through Claire’s internal dialogue that Frank was a player. Claire compares Jamie and Frank as lovers and concludes that Jamie was more enthusiastic and Frank was attentive and experienced, which means she knew Frank played around and knew it long before she traveled through the stones. It’s disappointing that the producers chose to bring more focus to Frank’s infidelity. Frank raised another man’s child, and he and Claire held it together largely long enough to accomplish this. Also, I suspect Frank placed the Fraser headstone to discourage Claire from looking for Jamie. He knew she loved him. Also, Frank was sterile.

Not on this show..the caliber of talent on Outlander is very high which means She has to bring her 'A' game to make an impression..she's maybe good enough for a soap opera but not on this show..when you have people like Tobias, Catriona, Sam, David Berry with outstanding scenes..even Richard holds his own in his scenes with Clair...then you have Brianna who comes across as a resentful and angry to her mother most of the time or snarky..its just not good enough..book Brianna was nothing like this.
@airbear82406 жыл бұрын
Natalie Quintal to be honest she has every right to be resentful amd angry. She found out the man who she was raised to believe was her father wasn't, that would upset anyone, especially since she had a really close relationship with him. She is a teenager and they are all about angst. I dont think anyone would believe a story about traveling through time without proof, which she does get later, After that she is calmer and more willing to believe Claires story, I also think she realizes how unhappy Claire was and wants her to be happy, which is why she encourages Claire to go find Jamie and tell Jamie all about her, I thought that was really mature and selfless of her.

I don't understand why women find the story of an unfaithful wife who stayed in a dead marriage and bore a child out of wedlock and then expected another man to raise it as his own romantic. I would like anyone who is going to write a negative reply to this to flip the script. Imagine a man who marries for convenience or duty, then travels back in time and meets the woman of his dreams, his soul mate. After a tragedy he has to travel back to the future, to his wife, with his child by that woman and some how convinces her to raise that child as her own. But the entire remainder of their marriage she knows that he does not love her but someone else he is secretly pining for. Someone he truly loves. Is this still a romance, or the story of an asshole dirt-bag? Would you still think kind thoughts about him, empathize, or commiserate? Or would you instead empathize with his wife and question why she stayed married to a man who didn't love him like she needed or deserved? In my opinion Clair is a villain. Selfish. Vindictive. Hurtful. A cuckoldress that couldn't let Frank go and let him be happy simply because she couldn't be get what she wanted to be happy. If you still find this romantic ask your husband or boyfriend if he would be okay with you letting one of his best friends father your next child and see what becomes of that. Or think long and hard how you would respond if you were asked by your best friend if she could get knocked up by your husband or boyfriend. Less romantic, no?
