I felt that way about the books too. The first was my favorite. I really think this story could have been told and finished in 3 books, as the author originally planned and it would have been better.

One of my favorite dramatic scenes of all time, in a tv series, of two people who were inadvertently placed (thrown) together, who instantly respected each other, in a very tense, and crucial situation. I love the eye contact, and little nods they give each other, it gives me goose bumps. I suspect this was love at first sight, despite Claire being so confused, and Jaime being in so much pain.

I love the scene a bit after this when Jamie falls off his horse. While Claire is yelling at him after he wakes up you can see the exact moment when his expression changes from damn to *dayum*

Seasons 1-3 are my favorites. Hats off to writer and director, Caitrion/s and Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Duncan Lacroix, Tobias Menzies, Gary Lewis, and the entire cast were chosen so well. Exceptional drama, a beautiful love story giving romance boundaries never before on tv, in the best taste, never lewd...the fundamental reason women were also so drawn to the story. Cat and Sam are so compelling...watched it over so many times, as the story is so well narrated it is a marvel to watch!!!!

Again, yes they were novices, green” as they’ve both said but how can they have been overlooked then and now for acting achievement in their expressions, gestures, inflection and interaction. I watch supposed award winning performances by others, and they don’t compare to these two.

Unfortunately, with the kind of heavy muscles he has a woman isn't likely to be strong enough to reduce that dislocation without relaxing the muscles and giving him pain treatment to keep him from tensing. My son is tall, but a skinny bean pole and it took two lady doctors AND injected muscle relaxers to do this very procedure on him. Hips and shoulders are the most difficult dislocations to treat. Still and all, it's a good start to the story. He looks amazed and grateful to her, and that's what we want, Jamie being amazed by Claire. 🥰

You have to remember the do no harm part. The two doctors and the relaxant are more for the patients comfort and to relocate as efficiently as possible. A veteran combat nurse from the early forties has different techniques that don't prioritize patient comfort that much bit promise efficiency.

Every Outlander season in a nutshell - Go back in time - Cheat on your spouse - Try to prevent a massacre - Fail - Some main character gets draped - return to the present - spouse realises they got cuckolded - return to the past - main character realises they got cuckolded / that they have a surprise child. Rinse and repeat.

Normally I'm not kindly about cheating on one's spouse, but in this instance the story is set up so that Claire got forced into marrying against her will, which I don't call "cheating." She didn't want to marry Jaimie or anyone else, but her only alternative under the laws of the time was a fate far worse than death.
