The sixth season of “Outlander” sees a continuation of Claire and Jamie’s fight to protect those they love, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America. Establishing a home in the New World is by no means an easy task, particularly in the wild backcountry of North Carolina - and perhaps most significantly - during a period of dramatic political upheaval. The Frasers strive to maintain peace and flourish within a society, which - as Claire knows all too well - is unwittingly marching towards Revolution. Against this backdrop, which heralds the birth of the new American nation, Claire and Jamie have built a home together at Fraser’s Ridge. They must now defend this home - established on land granted to them by the Crown - not only from external forces, but also from the increasing strife and conflict in the community within their care. For the Frasers and their immediate family, then, “home” is more than simply a site in which they live, it is the place where they are laying the foundations for the rest of their lives. If Season 4 asked, “What is home?” and Season 5 asked, “What are you willing to do to protect your home?” then Season 6 explores what happens when there is disharmony and division among the inhabitants of the home you’ve created: when you become an outsider, or an ‘outlander,’ so to speak, marginalized and rejected in your own home.

I had a similar experience as Claire in this clip. I was staying in Oxford and got in the habit of waking up very early to walk the streets in the fog and listen to students practice the piano or the violin from their rooms. One morning, I ended on a bridge overlooking old hunting grounds and a river. Below the bridge, I could hear thumping and clashing noises and the sound of men struggling but couldn't see anything at first. A minute later, the fog faded enough to see two full-grown men in armor wearing ragged clothes, buckles, helmets, daggers, shields, and clubs trying to beat each other up. They disappeared in the swirling fog again. I have no idea if this was college students practicing a play, a practical joke, or what, but what struck me was the danger of fighting in the fog and the sense of going back in time for a few seconds.

Interesting how her outfot easily fit the period once the belt was lost and the top unbuttoned. Easily can work as a tunic

Sweet story, but honestly, who would be happy moving from the mid 20th century to the mid 1700s? Did Claire ever stop to ask... "Before giving you the sweetest pleasure I know how to give, when was the last time you had a bath? Oh, I forgot, NEVER!" I'm sorry it just didn't work for me. The leap of faith was just to wide. First time having a tooth pulled by a blacksmith with horseshoe pliers, would send me screaming back to the future.

"Outlander" is a romance novel. When I read it 22 years ago, I thoroughly enjoyed it via Suspension of Disbelief. You get caught up in the story and don't think about things like body odor; using a chamber pot; and rotting teeth. Gabaldon was such a good storyteller in the first novel in the series, I willingly went on the journey with her. The rest of the books get exponentially worse and worse as you go on, if you go on. I wouldn't want to time travel to 18th century Scotland under any circumstances.

Of course you won't enjoy it if you're busy scrutinizing every aspect of the a story . There's a lot of freedom in deciding NOT to pick it apart. Maybe she LIKES the sent if a manly man, maybe he jumped in a river yesterday and it's not been as long as you think, maybe a lot of things. It's a fantasy. It doesn't have to be 100 percent realistic. I mean, its a story about time travel! What's more unrealistic-- that a woman in her prime slept with an exotic, mysterious, rugged if not a bit unsanitary warrior of a man or that she touched some ancient stones and traveled back in time 200 years?

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ETERNAMENTE JUNTOSSSSSSSS !!!!! BUENO ESA ES MI TEORÍA ,DEBIDO A LA PRESENCIA DE JAMIE Y Q SE REVELARA LA INCÓGNITA EN EL ÚLTIMO CAPÍTULO DEL FINAL DE LA SERIE !!!!!! ADORO ESTA SERIE !!!!! ❤️💞💕💋💖💖🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷

It's sci fi, phantasy, not a historic documentary. Yes there are many plotholes too like why are only a few going through the stones. But who cares, it's about bravery and romance
