Interview with Caitriona Balfe talking about Faith. “I’m not a particularly religious person, but there was something about being in a space where you can imagine that so many women have come and shared their grief, or begging for peace or solace or something, and I felt like I, in some weird way, was tapping into this shared grief that was in the bones of this building.”

Olive McIntosh I believe she spoke to her siblings ( she’s one of six ) as she’s an aunt to twelve ! But also Diana herself to get into Claire’s mindset during this part of the story

There is no pain that compares to loosing a baby. From someone who knows what it is like to go through loss of a child, she sis a very good job. I lost my only baby at 35 weeks gestation. he was not stillborn but dies 2 days later. long story. As Catalina says, 'people are never the same' it is true. Grafe such as this change some people for ever and i am one of them.

This was so much deeper than I was expecting and Catriona was so eloquent taking about it, I was really touched. There are a lot of interviews focusing on Sam's most intense scene but this is the first one with Catriona that I've seen and it was so impactful. She is such an amazing actor and she's made Claire so real and accessible, I'm so glad she got the part!

watching season 5 now it can be easy to forget how much Claire and Jamie have been through. Sam and Catriona are both such amazing actors, in fact I have a sneaking suspicion that Claire and Jamie are actually real people in a dramamentary, the images we see on screen are so real, how can anyone be acting that :-0

One thing that must never be forgotten about Claire is that she's an experienced combat nurse so she is, or should be, a complex blend of determination, compartmentalization - and PTSD.

A friend of mine unexpectedly had a stillbirth yesterday after an otherwise healthy pregnancy. The baby died during delivery. My heartbreak for my friend and seeing the torment that she's going through losing her daughter immediately reminded me of Claire losing Faith. It's a pain that no woman should have to bear. Thank you Caitriona Balfe for bringing this hardship that many women endure to life so beautifully.

To lose a child, I donno how painful that can be. But to lose the child of the man you have loved the most, the child that had his features, I cannot fathom the pain the women must feel. Even I sobbed watching that scene. It meant a lot because it was Jamie's child, the man we all had fallen in love with. I guess I understand now what it means to parents who lose their first baby. Its traumatizing...

I remember crying before the episode. I knew what was gonna happen back in season 1 so watch the first part of season 2, all the episodes leading to this one became that much harder. I remember for a 3 months when re-watching the season every singe time I would ball out cry. Excellent performance by Caitriona Balfe. Thank so much or letting me experience this.

SORRY I agree with all the comments made below, she did a great job. But its also another instance where she blames Jamie for everything (which she retracted later). She should have known that Jamie had a very good reason for breaking his word to her about the duel ( which he shouldn't have had to give to begin with) after all the violence he perpetrated on Jamie, and she shouldn't have followed him as she hadn't been feeling all that great lately in the pregnancy, but she did it anyway so she shares a lot of the blame and I think she finally realized that ,And I do think she won an award for it.

Caitriona is such a wonderful actor. I absolutely love her in this role. But. Claire should have taken some blame in Faith's death. Claire had choices and didn't have to put her health at risk like that. Jaime is a much bigger and wiser man than I for keeping quiet and not throwing any blame back on Claire. Jaime saved their relationship by taking the blame.
