I'm thinking Ian was crying bc Rolo dies, especially since he mentioned Rolo getting older a couple of episodes back. Or Ian could also be wrestling w being his true self & now trying not to kill people bc of Rachel & her beliefs. He let the German soldier go, but ended up killing him bc he knew it was in everyone's best interest. I think it's just a coincidence Ian's riding up to the church as Jamie takes a quick break w Claire. I'm pretty sure Claire doesn't die there. There's another season! I've always had a feeling that Roger/Brianna & fam would end up going back in time to the ridge & living there w Jamie & Claire & the rest of the fam. It would be so nice to see them all together again!

We all agree Claire does not die. Having read Written in my own Blood we kind of know what this final episode will be. Timeline of events have been changed but the actions do happen. And I am willing to bet in this Season 7 final episode will end like the book. Arabella Jane being arrested and William going for help I will be interested to see if they keep it like the book. I have my doubts. So w/o giving spoilers from the book ( unless it’s allowed) I am kind of going to like the ending of this season. Now season 8 I am imaging will be Tell The Bees I Am Gone which is the final book and I am not finished with that one so I cannot comment on what might be. Thank you. Sorry for the long rant.

Just read the books. Of course Claire doesn’t die. Dianna Gabaldon wouldn’t have a final book if she killed off Claire or Jamie in Go tell the Bees I am gone.
