This is an absolutely outstanding series. In 50 decades of watching TV series, my only thought was 'will be the episode where I lose interest?'. But with Outlander, every single episode just hooks you even more. THAT is remarkable. You can't bottle that. You laugh, you cry, you are horrified, and you learn real things about history that you wouldn't even know. What more can you want from your TV?

It seems a little weird to me that in the books, unlike in the show, after Brianna comes to the 18th century she doesn't have such a distant relationship with Jamie (maybe I just imagined that) she kinda loves him with all of her heart and she doesn't act so much like a stranger. I just don't feel this father-daughter bond and love when I watch the show
@pam35284 жыл бұрын
I feel this on so many levels! It completely sucks they ruined such a beautiful relationship like that
@nessyness54474 жыл бұрын
I feel it actually makes more sense. I mean, yeah he is her bio father, but he is much literally a stranger to her. Is normal that she would not be like "oh my father, i love you so much dad" right away, anyone would need time to see someone they just met as their father.
@victoriaivanova52934 жыл бұрын
@@nessyness5447 well, yeah, typically no one would run into some stranger's arms shouting "I love you dad who I never knew". I'm saying that in the books emotions between them started to appear much faster than in the series (in my previous comment I wasn't taking about their meeting in particular but their relationship in general)
@nessyness54474 жыл бұрын
@@victoriaivanova5293 yeah, i get it, but i mean that i find the slower pace of the novel more believable. I mean, imagine you were to find out that your father is not your bio one and then you met the bio one , but he is a stranger and for you, your dad, is the one who raised you ( bree and frank were super close too). Is difficult to get used to the idea that this person is your father too and to start caring about them as such. I imagine she would not want to let go of dad frank's memory and some part of her mayne felt like she was betraying him by calling jaimie father too. It's a difficult thing and they aslo clash in ideas and beliefs. So it makes sense it would take them longer to connect.

What touches me the most is Jamie's laugh when he hugs his daughter. A reassuring and fatherly laugh. Also, Claire's reflex to mechanically open her arms and drop what she was holding to welcome her daughter in her arms... this type of detail cannot be written.
