I got this platinum this week. By far is my hardest platinum. I practiced on Nightmare for about 18 hours before starting my attempts on Insane. It took 07 attempts to finally get to the end. Everywhere you will see people saying that the Nightmare is the same as the Insane. However, when I started the Insane I noticed some minor changes, I died in some parts that I had never died on the Nightmare, that are areas in which the enemies have more patterns of behaving and are more smart/fast (at least that's what I felt). Congrats.

Yep, they're definetly not the same difficulty. But the rng it's truly a bitc* sometimes. The rope section is the moment where the game decides if you're going to succes.

Respect to you for not using a guide. I platted Outlast 2 as well, but I used a guide, and it was still torture. With the amount of bullshit and unlucky stuff that happened, my brain can't even fathom trying to make my own strategies for it. I remember getting up to the part with Marta getting impaled and having the same reaction as you because, at that point, it was a cake walk. The difficulty definitely has a fitting name. You're one goat of a trophy hunter.

Surprisingly Insane was even more difficult in the early days. You had very little room for error and there was chases just about everywhere. With the patch they tone them down a little and took out a few chase sequences.

I find this video and your mesiah walkthrough in general....yes the entire 2 hours, very enjoyable to watch for some reason. If youre ever planning to platinum Outlast 1 (I 100 percented that one first cuz its easier and more fun); know that the version on steam is MUCH easier due to it not having 2 throphys that the console versions do have. Totally feel that "I want that to be my victory" moment as when i myself was completing this challenge i watched guide till the first chase and then thought the same way, turned it off and started my own insane journey And it was indeed interesting as I have myself discovered a couple of weird ai behavior moments. First I remember is glitching Marta in the "cart-pushing" section in which you have to immediately slide under in the fence hole after she comes out, so she starts to detour you and it somehow prevents her from breaking the fence and actually coming back. Finding this on my own was pretty exciting as I never knew why and how it works so it constantly kept me in tension cause I had no idea, if Marta is gonna run out of the corner any moment or not. And the second is in the mines with the heretic that jumps of the wall blocking your way. In this sequence I learned to run back to the first turn to the left, lock myself in the room and wait a bit while standing close to the door (as going deep in the room caused the heretic to suddenly jump from the ceiling just before the door). After waiting you just get out of the room and corridor on the right is empty: heretic has gone somewhere else These were the interesting patterns in outlast 2 ai I have occasionally learned, while getting my platinum)

Man i hated doing the insane run of this game because not only it's very hard but the worst part was the goddamn unskippable cutscenes. One time i got to the mines and i died on that first section of going back and forth with the railcart on the end, i almost wanted to cry but then i finally got it and thank god i didn't die to martha at the end.Just so you know, on Xbox the percentage of insane run plus no reloading your camera is about 0.02% completion.May god be at your side when your trying to platinum this game.

The parts that I absolutely hate with this game is some certain little bits. For example, the first chapter has one where you have to push the cart after two dudes leave the room (way before cart bit with Martha) and the technique was so unreliable, it was to crouch behind the first wall when you enter, the dude will come past you and move to the left to check behind the cart. Then you move to the haystack and crouch there. The first enemy will always leave but the second one either went out through a back window or followed the first enemy. Occasionally he would walk straight towards you so you were fucked. I had no idea how to get past that part. I saw an alternative method of hiding under the cart and then crawling to a desk with bottles underneath to prone under but I never tried it. Another section is the blood one where you have to crawl through a part but one of the heretics jumps down and its just this empty dark room where two heretics creep around. But the AI knows exactly where you are. The method was to hide under a desk in between bottles and metal shit and then wait until the heretic got to the far end of the room and then crawl through. But you never knew when it was safe to go. I have PTSD playing this dumbass game. I remember blasting Tyler The Creator's album, call me if you get lost and also Yeat when I was playing this game because of how dull it was when I would die at the first part or some stupid little slip in the middle of the game. I was losing my mind. I still didn't get it though. The cutscenes make me want to kms Also some of bro's strats are mad fruity. I was using a guide and it's strats on the game. Appreciate him innovating his own methods but he's making it harder.

this is the hardest plat for me. one key to the one-battery run is to turn the brightness setting for game and tv to very very high, to the extent i didnt even need the battery. most of my deaths came from basics and fundamentals such as jumping and catching but falling short and falling to my death. i challenge you to do the wolfenstein 2 plat - the hardest trophy there is a permadeath run similar to this one!

@@yervtownyervington honestly all of it until you can past each section easily. Marta plus Nick (wee guy on the guys shoulders) would be high on the list. If you are watching a guide be careful, an update came out a few years back making some sections easier but also changes the pathing of other enemies so what works in an old guide can get you killed with the latest patch.

There is a great exploit for the cart section with Martha. You need to push the cart until she sees you, you run and slide into the gap in the fence. Wait for her to leave, and run out sprinting towards the gate you need to cross over. Run at full speed into the gate and she completely de spawns. Like she is gone. A fool proof way of doing it every single time.
