Before 2022 when my credits list was only about 35 coasters long, this was my number 1 as it absolutely blew my mind. So smooth, so much airtime, and the inversions were unlike anything I had every experienced before. Of course last year featuring trips to Cedar Point and Kings Island definitely pushed it back more than a few spots, but it sure did a great job at showing me what RMC was capable of doing and I now have SteVe and Goliath in my top 10

I’ve been on VelociCoaster and Gwazi, but something about Outlaw Run is more intense than them. I only got one ride on Gwazi, and i’m going to have to ride it again this May since I had ran across the entire park before my first ride on it, and it wasn’t nearly as intense as it could’ve after I had already boosted my adrenaline.

I love this ride. I rode it four times on my trip back in July 2023, and it was HAULING. I hate hearing the complaints that it’s too rough - I agree that it needs to have a little bit of texture to it to give it that wooden roller coaster feel. I don’t remember feeling too much of a pothole near the bottom, but I guess I’ll just have to get back out to SDC to check it out!

This was my introduction to RMC. Was expecting a chill old woodie and was blown away with this! I think y’all are going overboard a bit on the pothole/roughness. The double barrel roll has become a bit too slow for me lately but the night rides are just sooo good! I remember my first ride back in 2013, my friend made the mistake of bringing her phone and it went flying past us going through the wave turn. Lucky for us we were the very last seat and didn't hit anyone and she amazingly got it back same day with no damage! Unforgettable 😅

This is my home RMC, the one closest to me! Another point about the lap bars is that they will come down tighter and tighter during the ride, and it's almost impossible to fight against the stapling. I actually like when we loose speed into the barrel rolls, because that gives even better and more sustained hangtime, but I also want it going as fast as possible up until that point. But that is coming from someone who does enjoy hangtime.

This is my absolute favorite roller coaster. I would argue that row 9 is the best seat on the train. You get the whip from the first drop like row 11 but it pushes so hard through all of the other elements. And have ridden several times where it has E Stopped itself for running over 72 plus MPH. You know it’s running fast when they have several rows closed to slow it down.

This ride is just a beast. Its in my home park too so I get to ride it alot. And I really do agree about that horrible pothole at the bottom of the first drop. However I don't think it has the best drop in the park. For me it would have to go to Time Traveler in the back or even Wildfire in the front. But, the front seat is my fav on Outlaw

@weightlessfilms56519 ай бұрын
Love this ride! Just rode it a couple times the other day, once in the front, once in the back. And those are night and day experiences. If you're in the front, the pothole after the first drop is really the only rough moment, relatively speaking. But the back was brutal. I'd be against a complete iBoxing, but I'm in favor of adding it just after the first drop to ease the pain. The trains are my only other critique. Make sure that lap bar is ALL the way down. I prefer to leave a gap for airtime on most coasters, but that lap bar may SLAM a notch during that pothole, making the pain even worse. Additionally, lean forward and keep your arms up or your elbow will slam into the side. Night rides are phenomenal too. This is a hot take, but Powder Keg night rides might top it IMO. It's just as dark, but much smoother. Getting launched into darkness then blinded by the camera flash is next level. Anyway, the double barrel roll finale is so unreal and surprisingly smooth. This ride doesn't have a dull moment. If they fixed that pothole, you ride in the front, and "navigate" the train constraints optimally, this ride would be flawless.

My question is: what if the outlaws ARE the good guys, working to build a machine to outdo other rides? And if you think I just described the Steel Vengeance storyline, well you're right! Would be cool if they did a crossover of the themes, like an overarching RMC universe. Also when I rode in December I didn't think it was rough at all, although I believe it probably was running slow.

Never noticed that awkward pot hole experience that you did. Brilliant ride. Love “night rides” and Outlaw Run is easily my favorite. Voyage, Steel Vengeance and The Beast are up there but I think Outlaw Run is exponentially better. Can’t see nuthin’. It’s nuts when it’s pitch black out. Those lap bar restraints are inarguably a pain. Certainly prefer them over a harness though.

I hope this doesn't come off as angry. But I wish you wouldntve referenced SOB's inversion in this way. It makes it sound like the attempt to go upside down was a failure, when the loop only left because of the failure of everything else. The loop went great and then the lighter trains couldn't make it. Otherwise, always like a good review! I agree, don't ride that very back row. If you ride 2nd to last, you can hear the person behind you scream at the bottom of the first drop 😅. As of 2023, it was still extremely painful. Also.. really great footage of this ride! I personally prefer the front of the train on this ride also as I find the ride a tad too intense for its seats

This is my first home park and I'm an alumni citizen as well. When Outlaw Run opened in 2013 it was smooth as snot on a glass doorknob. Those trains were tolerable. I was there again shortly after the incident on New Texas Giant. Fred Grubb was on the unloading deck and personally checked my lap bar. The newly added seat belt sucked since the buckle isn't way off to one side and then the lap bars were readjusted to come down further....combined with the buckle sandwiched against you. The trains now sucked. Outlaw Run is not aging well. It is getting rough and not in a good way. Topper track might be a great idea for classic wooden coasters which need retracked to address ride roughness. The RMC ideas of flips-n-dips and rabid ejector air time is probably better served by RMC's i-box track. And the night rides on Outlaw Run are epic....now SDC needs to shut off the ride camera lights during night rides because those lights blind you and you can't see anything for the rest of the ride. Outlaw Run needs RMCed. And yes, it kills me to say that.

I wish people would stop calling hybrid coasters "wooden coasters". They don't ride like a wooden coaster at all, they just have wooden supports. What a waste of timber. They could have used steel supports and added the more thrilling elements of a steel coaster like: launches, vertical loops, corkscrews, and helixes. Hybrid coasters lack so much of what makes both wooden and steel coasters great and unique ride experiences, leaving alot to be desired.
