My great uncle Epps, as a young man, was on a train Sam Bass robbed. He had so little of value on him they said he could keep it. It embarrassed him and he decided to dedicate himself to doing better. He was comfortably retired when I knew him in the fifties.

I gathered main points about person biography you mentioned briefly here it’s Sam bass ( 1851-1878) he was American train robber, 19 th century, outlaw and out law gang leader .he grew up without formal schooling but he was very clever on his uncle farm after his parents died. His Nickname Texas beloved bandit or Robin Hood on fast horse ,he used skills he acquired as ranch hand and as railroad freighter to rob stagecoaches and railroads in and out side taxes . He had to rob four trains out side of Dallas .

My 4x Great Grandfather nursed Sam Bass' wounds in the jail the night of his death. His name was James Daniels, known as "Uncle Jim" of Round Rock, and was enslaved by Stephen F Austin as a child. He lived at the "White House on the Brazos" where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. His parents were enslaved on Andrew Jackson's plantation, The Hermitage. He also contributed much history to Brown's History of Texas when it was written at W.T. Wells' estate, because he was present at many of the events. Some of this info, including him helping Sam Bass, can be found in a whole page article in the Austin Statesman newspaper circa 1912 when he died.

A friend's family lore is that Jim Murphy, who ratted out Sam Bass, was actually surnamed Murdock and had used Murphy as an alias to protect his family. The book from which the channel owner reads is online on Google. It says Jim Murphy committed suicide. I don't find any sources online that Jim Murphy was really Jim Murdock. If there's anyone with background that can straighten out the confusion, please do.

That rascal of a Kitty was very pretty indeed! I do feel sorry for her child(ren) though. I'd love to know more about Sam Bass and his life leading up to this. It would be interesting to know about Kitty's upbringing and the lives of her parents and siblings. I think that would shed some light on how she ended up living the life that she did. Of course she chose that life, but her upbringing may have helped. I wonder how the lives of any of her children turned out. Excellent videos you have! Thank you Sir!

I didn't capture the connection between Kitty and Sam Bass. The husband being Sam Curley, I'm uncertain of the intended association in this reading. "?"

Iv heard somewhere else there were rumours of the two having a fling together. Iv only read of these rumours though and never actually found the sources, i thought this vid might have fixed that but then again im one of those utter imbeciles who still think a title should correlate to its attached content.

The picture of Jesse James at 3:15 & at 7:16 which you identify as Sam Bass doesn't do anything for your credibility.
