Don't know what you're talking about. When you factor in inflation that's actually much lower than around $3.50 in the summer of '06 under George W's watch. That was a record high atp, considering during Clinton it was typically around a dollar a gallon then in the early Bush year's it jumped up to around $2 a gallon.

I stopped dipping in 08 and Copenhagen was the stuff for me but if I wanted a cheaper dip , I would buy red grizzly but for me the closest thing to Copenhagen was black can Timber Wolf and it was 89 cents when it came out and if I ever wanted a wintergreen taste , Kodiak was the stuff , I'm a little older and I started out dipping Skoal until they started putting it in plastic and it changed the taste and wasn't as fine cut and I loved the Happy Days dip , it was finer than Copenhagen and was Spearmint flavor but after doi g away with one and screwing up the other I tried Copenhagen and absolutely loved it.

I did this very thing myself. I was paying 9 dollars a can of Copenhagen and sometimes cans come partially dry when it’s one of the more popular brands and it flys off the shelf and is constantly being restocked with new fresh cans. I wanted something cheaper and was even willing to sacrifice taste and mouth feel. I tried Timberwolf, grizzly, skoal, and a few others all in Straight Longcut flavor. If they didn’t have that flavor, then I didn’t get it. And the best by far with the best taste, feel and quality was Kayak. It’s $3.50 a can, it’s ALWAYS moist and fresh. It’s softer in your lip and the kicker is that the flavor is better, sweeter with a salty back end and lasts almost twice as long as Copenhagen or any other brand!! Whatever they are doing, it works allot better than popular name brands. My only gripe is that I didn’t find it sooner and save almost 6 bucks a can!! Lord knows how much I’ve wasted! 😤😩
