Saw them for the first time at The Who's all day open air concert at Charlton Athletics The Valley football ground. No one knew who they were, but by the end of their set no one would ever forget them! I felt really sorry for Little Feat, who I liked, because they had to follow them. LF were good but after The Outlaws......they just couldn't compare. The Florida Guitar Army. 3 Guitars, 3 main singers, although the whole band could sing. Incredible harmonies and wild solo's...................Green Grass and High Tides Forever! I still have all the vinyl, and will 'til my dying day:

Mailman1960 A lot of reactors try to figure out what genre the band is. When I was growing up, if it was playing on FM radio, it was just ROCK.

Really enjoy your reactions and insights Harri! I think it might be time for some more Canadian content: Eyes of a Stranger by the Payola$. A one-hit wonder from the early 80s, but with a twist: It was a massive hit in Canada, placing in the top 5 on charts across the country, but the song never even charted in the US. Why? Well, the band name was an indictment of the US recording industry -- and they didn't like it. Still, give Eyes of a Stranger a play -- I think you might like it!

Chris has some really cool songs in his catalog. Why do the guitars in this song sound like Molly Hatchet?

Probably because Molly Hatchet copied them. The Outlaws formed in Florida back in '67 and Hatchet came along in '71. To be fair the scene at the time meant a lot of bands had a similar sound. The Outlaws guys always held LS as their mentors and Hughie (The Flame)Thomasson went on to join LS and play with them for a number of years. Imitation is a form of respect after all!
