Sieges in empire are just a mess tbh. Idk if it's just me, but whenever a breach opens in the walls during any siege battle the game lags to the point of being unplayable.

The royal fusiliers aren't very elite. They would get low trading in close quarters even today. They just know how to shoot but their not elite

Dude did you know 3/4 the battles they saw were defeat? And also in Belgium they were already entrenched. Not only that they had machine gun support while the Jerries were just conscripts cramped together.Advantage.Also only a few were veterans the UK hasn't been very aggressive the last 150 yrs aside from WW1 WW2 war on terror, how could they be vets? I'm not talking about the game I'm talking real life. Most fusiliers are Royal Marines who want more.

They go to basic , get a bit toughened up, and learn to shoot. Unlike the Spetznanz or Alpha team they don't have to do bizarre stuff like get a grenade exploded by them or get in a hole that gets filled by animal guts and blood.

wish the base game kept the historical marching songs of the nations when heading into battle. Obviously some may not be super accurate to the time period but it would be cool to see this aspect for this type of warfare. Hell they should've at least have done a simple cadence to immerse the player and personify your troops a bit. Brits "British grenadier" Americans "johnny goes marching home" and the many other iconic stuff developed.

Could you imagine a conversation between an AI General and his #2, Sir the Enemy has taken the high ridge so our shots bounce over him but he can hit us. Very well, charge with bayonets...but but sir that's what we did the last 18 times and lost the last 18 times....Exactly they'll never suspect it a 19th time.

Does anyone else fell as though the ai in this battle were particularly smart, at least by the standards of ETW? Nevertheless Jackiefish is a traitor! More ETW please. You definitely need a retexture though if you're playing Britain or HRE in vanilla.
