Thankyou for doing this video, I learnt alot. I think you missed an important feature of the Omrons, they appear to use a P channel and an N channel, not 2 N Channels, hence the ability to have either polarity DC on the load terminals (see diodes).

It has to use 2 N-channel or 2 P-channels due to the MOSFET diodes.

Hi Lewis, I'm looking for a good ssr relay circuit to control up to 200vdc @ 10 amps. I didn't quite understand what you meant at the end about the H bridge. I checked out your website, but I'm still not quite sure. Any help would be appreciated.

An H-bridge is a DC motor control that swaps polarity. What is the control voltage?

@@LewisLoflin Okay , I now understand the H bridge. I see you have some other videos on ssr also. The reason I want to build something is that I need a 4 pole relay. It's kinda an odd situation. It's for a solar power system. I have two arrays, each is 160v @ 9a. My charge controller has a max voltage of 200v. So I parallel the two arrays to it. My gridtie inverter needs higher voltage, so I series the arrays to it for 320v. What I want to control is switching from one to the other. Right now I have a 4 pole double throw knife switch. I have the Load sides parallel to the charge controller and is series to the gridtie. So with ssr relays, I will need two sets of 4. I'm trying to get to the point where that would be fully automated. My system is 24v, so the control voltage would range from 24v - 30vdc. How I really would like it to be controlled is when the grid goes down, it would automatically switch the solar from the gridtie to the charge controller, so there would need to be some other lower powered relays also which wouldn't be a problem. I hope you understand all of this and I didn't make it to complicated. I think it would make a very interesting system. Very fun project. I thought I could mount it on 1 or 2 large heat sinks and even incorporate cooling fans if needed. I'm retired and semi disabled. I was a general building contractor, but worked on electronics all my life. Thanks for your quick reply. I just need pointed in the right direction.

@@LewisLoflin Also, I really appreciate your videos. Not too much that shows switching DC.
