Hey Dan been watching you for about 4 months and riding for about 3, can’t thank you enough for keeping new riders safe by your teaching.

it's time for me to exit this community. Thank you everyone who made it feel like a family. My riding career was ended 2022 by a drugged out car driver. I had to learn everything all over again including walking, breathing, talking. I am just now at a point where i can take care of myself. I can no longer ride ever for the rest of my life. Stay safe folks and God bless.

Glad you're able to have a chance to learn everything over, sucks you can't ride anymore though. I hope they caught the driver and punished them properly.

You are pointing at a problem which I often ran into. People are standing around astonished at the anguish people are in from an accident. Every single time and even with 20 people being there, I was the first to call emergency service (it is 112 here, not 911). I am really cross and frustrated that they seem too scared to get out their mobiles. It seems people are just helpless themselves when they need to help.
@John_Ridley2 ай бұрын
Every single emergency response class you will go to covers this, it's called the "bystander effect." Everyone assumes someone else did it.

On the 30th of October 2024, I was heading home on my bike after work and came across a massive crash involving 2 bikes and a Ute/ Pickup. There was a 3rd bike, but he was lucky enough to slow down and not crash. The ute pulled out in front of the bikes, the bikes were moving a bit over the speed limit. One hit the ute the other locked up his rear tyre and came off. There were a few witnesses who had already called Emergency services. first guy I came across had bad road rash to his right arm and feet. But was aware and alert, so we laid him down and talked to him until Emergency services arived, he was wearing his helmet and riding pants and gloves. No jacket or riding boots. His normal shoes did nothing for him. As they flew off. He is now okay no life-threatening injuries, If he was wearing the full gear, he would have been pretty good, probably only a broken/sore arm from hitting the ground. Unfortunately, the second guy wasn't so lucky, sadly... he was under the ute and was mutilated, His helmet did nothing for him... his head was crused. He was killed instantly. Oneof the witnesses covered him up. scene was unlike anything I have ever seen before... We and His mates on scene especially the guy that didn't crash and went to check on him will never unsee that shit and neither will everyone else on scene I feel for everyone involved especially the families.😢 Don't think I will be riding again anytime soon.

Did his head hit against the truck or did the truck wheels actually roll over his head?

Another good video. I've fallen before (stopped while turning on loose gravel on road, not a good idea) and hit the ground pretty hard on one side. I was wearing armor(CE2) and felt nothing other than embarrassment. I am curious how some of these fallen riders did, wish they would break down what they wore and injuries they suffered.

14:39 Strange road markings. Normally, you can't cross a solid line (perhaps in this jurisdiction, it's OK if the line is yellow). Certainly not two left-turn lanes. Next intersection, it's white. WTF?

A quick shifter doesn't allow you to BE in gear without the clutch, it allows you to shift into gear without the clutch. My guess is she bumped the shifter by accident. A Rekluse auto clutch is what would allow you to be in gear at idle with the clutch out.

So I know I'm a little late to the party but I'd like to chime in on the Indian rider with the Garmin GPS. If you look at the car coming head on at him, it is on the wrong side of the double yellow.

The one with the middle turn lane, Indian with the Garmin. What no one realizes is you're not supposed to ride that lane like he tried to, you pull into there pretty much right where you need to turn.

The solid white stripe after the intersection implies you're supposed to ride through the intersection in the suicide lane.

It's very intimidating when some dork jumps bad at you and his pants fall down. But the Moto rider should not have stopped to jaw-jack with the dummy. "when you wrestle with pigs, you both get dirty, but the pigs like it ."

I disagree on the lane position. The far left is the blind spot. Middle right is where you want to be. The guy didn't look before coming over or it was unintentional blindness. Nothing you can do except escape to the left and possibly brake.

No, because it greatly increases the difficulty of evasive action. People are going to miss motorcycles no matter what.

@@ZTK-RC 12:40 He is definitely going too fast. No doubt. Maybe being in the far left going at that speed and at night would be a good idea. In general it is a bad idea though. If you can't see them they can't see you.
