Sad boat in all terms. No lounge, no space compared to Lagoon/bali, and i bet no speed compared to other speedy cats. Half measures all the way

How much faster is this than a Lagoon, Sunreef or FP at 1.5 million? I don't see the price for the product when I can get, maybe slower, but much more livability in one of the three I mentioned. If I want fast, I'll fly the jet. Just a personal opinion.

Don't know specifics but should be quite a bit faster. However, I totally agree with your viewpoint. Unfortunately, performance catamarans are very much in vogue these days. I say unfortunately because the trend is towards faster yachts at the _expense_ of comfort and living space, when the design philosophy should be to strike a good balance between the two. I see the Outermer and other manufacturers as sacrificing too much for speed. Perhaps some don't mind but I'd easily trade a couple of knots for more comfort if I was looking at a liveaboard or long term cruising boat. This is a 55ft cat that has a saloon that looks like it belongs on a 45-footer. Too small. The hulls are also way too narrow for this size boat and those daggerboard enclosures aren't helping in that regard. For the occasional cruiser to relatively close by destinations is an entirely different matter.

How well does a Sunreef sail in light wind conditions? And how much diesel are you going to burn with the engines and gensets on a Sunreef? This Outremer can sail even in light wind conditions instead of having to motor.

@@jamesaron1967 How much space do you need? Step outside from the saloon. Do you really see a shortage of space? How well does a Sunreef sail in light wind conditions? And how much diesel are you going to burn with the engines and gensets on a Sunreef? This Outremer can sail even in light wind conditions instead of having to motor. The ability to get above 7-8 knots of boat speed is also going to enable much more potential to generate electricity through hydrogeneration - further minimizing fuel burn from the gensets.

@@angela1984a You have a good point about the efficiency. If I had the money I would probably commission a McConaghy cat of about 65-70ft. I would have space and efficiency/speed with something like that. Won't happen in this lifetime... The reason I want substantial space is due to my dream of a bridge-deck cabin that maintains a decent size salon. Leopard managed that with their 58, which actually had the option of _two_ cabins on the main deck. That model is discontinued and wasn't the most efficient sailing vessel anyway. Hard to have your cake and eat it. I shouldn't even be looking at production yachts to tell you the truth. I will never be satisfied with commercial layouts that have multiple cabins and a plethora of berths, which I wouldn't use and consume a LOT of footage for nothing. I also need an office with adjunct library and a workout room. Maybe an entertainment room. Does that give you an indication of how much space? LOL..

@@jamesaron1967 Look at the couple running the Y-tube channel Sailing La Vagabonde. Do they look to be out of shape? And they have been living on the Outremer 45... You don't need a workout room. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing. And you can easily have an office/smallish library in one of the hulls on a 55ft Outremer. Or work on a computer/laptop at the saloon table or the nav station. Entertainment room... What's wrong with a projector and a good stereo in the salon? Or setting up the projector outside on the boat somewhere if you aren't disturbing any neighbors. And you apparently 'only' need some 6 knots of boat speed to get good hydrogeneration. But that will still be much easier to get on an Outremer even in light wind conditions...
