📄 OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast is a racing game developed by Sumo Digital and published in 2006 by Sega AM2. It is the 9th title in the series. Outrun 2006 is a re-imagining of the Out Run, the first game in the series and has a new game engine and modern graphics.

I emulate the psp version on my phone, 6x upscale. and honestly, it looks the business. 60fps too

All of them are good in their own, though the Xbox version has the best overall visuals besides the PC port (though the lens flare and bloom from the latter are missing due to being put in a wrong folder, but this can be easily fixed by copy and pasting them in the correct folder). Oh and the downside for the PSP version is that there's no steering wheel support, considering it's a handheld port.

the only thing that annoys me a bit on the XB port is the guard rail being build just a few feet ahead of the car. they fixed that on PS2 and obviously PC, but left it there for some reason..

Xbox version are 99% identical at Chihiro coinop version. Windows version take advantage about amount of GPU video ram and show nice sharpness texture mapping, but my favorite is xbox conversion.

I just wish the PC version didn’t have such terrible controls. No matter what I change in settings, something is always broken, and the FXT mod only made them worse

You might think the pc version is the best way to play, but it's not. although it looks the best due to the game supporting your monitors native resolution, it was actually released on CD instead of a DVD which meant that all the voice lines in the game are extremely compressed. even the car flipping up into the air animation doesn't exist on PC while it does on Xbox. (when you hard crash into a wall) and there's a LOT of censorship in the PC edition. dunno the exact specifics, but it's there.

The best version is the arcade version played on PC using Teknoparrot emulator.

PC > PS2 > XBOX > PSP The problem with XBOX is that it's using a nasty bilinear filtering, it's basically anisotropic filtering x0. So the textures get extremely blurry 5 meters ahead. PS2 remains sharp.
