Outside Lands returns to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park

The 14th annual Outside Lands music festival kicked off Friday at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. With COVID still a concern and now monkeypox as the latest public health emergency, many concertgoers said they're happy the event is indeed outside.

Here's the thing about boomers that stupid people miss...In 1968 on the vey same spot in this story the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater, The Airplane and others played Sundays for free from the back of a flatbed truck. That was a world you are not equipped to comprehend. It seemed like most of us were high on acid and all sharing the same giddy vibe. There was no violence, nothing was sold, the cops were restrained and we forgot about the war for a while. The comparison is between the genuine and the imitation.
