@scottk06233 жыл бұрын
No different product, #2 = 140k btu per gal & 132k btu for kero. The nozzle is not the issue, kero burns clean and won’t “ jell” when cold like #2 will. Also Miller trailer furnaces are not clean out friendly. You need to remove the burner, front pouch plate & chamber. This is not usually when using kero.

@jblyon23 жыл бұрын
There's a lot less price fluctuation with natural gas too. Heating oil you don't know one winter to the next, or even tank to tank, if it'll be $1.50 or $4.50/gallon.
@buffydog213 жыл бұрын
@@jblyon2 Wow. That's a big jump. Although natural gas has jumped up $2 per CCF recently. But, that's because, Biden is trying to get the use of oil in cars. But, what do you do with all the homes, that use oil, propane, and natural gas to heat their homes? Force them to go to electric heat?
@carolrobinson77793 жыл бұрын
@@buffydog21 in Iowa most energy providers are pushing all electric and heat pumps. Ground source heat pump will generally get you a incentive of some sort. Mine is equal to almost 2mths electric bill so November and December I have no bill. I don't like this push to be all green renewable energy statewide by 2030 using wind and water no fossil fuels.
@jblyon23 жыл бұрын
@@buffydog21 Yeah it has gone up, but it's still more stable than oil or propane. The price increase has nothing to do with Biden (aside from perhaps not putting enough political pressure on OPEC to increase production.) Last year production was drastically cut due to the crash in demand and, subsequently, in price. OPEC has not increased their output from their 2020 low despite the rapid return in demand. There's simply less oil derived products available on the market. It's good old fashioned supply and demand, even if that supply is being artificially limited by foreign powers. IMO they're simply using this time to regain the profits they lost last year, along with many other industries.
@buffydog213 жыл бұрын
@@carolrobinson7779 I don't either. It's sad. I keep trying to tell people, that an electric car still needs plastic and oil to make the vehicle. There's oil in dashboard, which is made out of plastic, plastic in copper covered wires, rubber in tires, and finally there's a oil type coolant in transmission and batteries. So, either way, you're still using oil, like that's in a traditional gasoline car. Biden and his friends with benefits are making money, off from pushing us into electric cars. Most people can't afford to buy a starter $40,000-$60,000 electric car. By the way, my Sister lives in Ankeny Iowa.

@biker555553 жыл бұрын
Inside there at the end is an air turbulator, it causes the air to spin. He is probing the turbulator with a screwdriver to ensure it is still in one piece and did not disintegrate. Plus it helps clean (some) any carbon deposits. On Riello burners the turbulator is part of the nozzle/electrode assembly and comes out when you remove the nozzle assembly. That's a much better design because you can easily examine and clean it. On other burners you have to take the burner out to get to it unless the boiler firebox door is on hinges and can be opened.

Why do trailer homes have to run kerosene?
@stanpatterson50333 жыл бұрын
It's to combat gelling in extremely cold weather, and the built-in furnaces are designed (with burner nozzles) to accommodate kero, rather than typical regular #2 fuel oil. Kero is thinner. I call it Kerobscene due to the ridiculously higher price of it, but it takes more refining to get it to the point of being kero, hence the higher price.
@tedrice1026 Жыл бұрын
I don't think it has anything to do with the refining. Kerosene was 18.9 a gallon when I started out in life and was used back in the 30's to run farm tractors because it was cheaper. But once jet aircraft came along kero began to go through the roof. You only get so much of a particular kind of oil from the crude. All about supply and demand.@@stanpatterson5033
