We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. kzbin.infoUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

I bought a Sunny SF B1995 that was used twice by an elderly woman for $150. It's brand new !! This model has a device holder and 40 pound fly wheel. Paid my brother in law $20 gas money to get it for me. Bought the wahoo cadence monitor for $39.99. I already have a Roku for the app. I pay $9.99 for the app as I am a healthcare worker and the first month is free. Total Bike $ 209.99. App $9.99 a month. That's Peloton on the cheap !!!

@OutsideChronicles4 жыл бұрын
If you have the extra $100-150, would agree to go with the SF-B1805. I guess the way I look at it, the chain drive is better than nothing, the belt drive is better than chain, and magnetic is better than resistance. At each stage you are add cost. All depends on your budget. I have been impressed with my model and would recommend Sunny bikes., But agree magnetic is the ultimate. Very thorough review, thank you for this! I'm on the fence b/w this model and the magnetic resistance. Recently joined Peloton Digital and been doing the cycling workouts on a folding exercise bike which have been great but I can't I get out of the saddle and get those workouts in. The only con I see in this bike in the noise from the leather pad. I guess my only hesitation on spending a little more would be my commitment to this lifestyle, long term. After all, if it wasn't for 'the disease' I'd never be acquainted. I am sure enjoying the "ride" however!

Hello there - thanks for the video friend. Couple questions if you could please respond 1 - How essential do you find the Zacro Gel Bike Seat Cover? Did it take a while before you decided you needed it? Is the Sunny Bike SF-B1002 base seat uncomfortable as is? 2 - For the oil - do you need a specific brand? Would spraying some good old WD40 be fine? Sounds like just oil it up every couple months 3 - Not a big deal here - but how easy is Wahoo integration if I use Apple Fitness+ and an iPhone?
@OutsideChronicles2 жыл бұрын
The seat cover is not necessary and could be added on later. The normal seat is a pretty standard bike seat. I prefer the cover, but could easily do without it. The oil is called 3-in-1, it is both the type and the brand. WD-40 will break down too quickly for this application. As for the Wahoo integration, they have an app, but I do not use it. I track my workouts on my fitness watch. The Peloton App also tracks it. You can added both a HR monitor and the Cadence sensor to the app.

I purchased this bike based on this and other You Tube reviews. I wish I did more research. The seat is awful. I purchased the gel cover you recommended and it didn't help much. Now I am making another purchase for a new seat. The downward angled handlebars are uncomfortable. I don't think there is a replacement or fix for this. I wish I could have tested one in person.
@OutsideChronicles4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Have you researched how to adjust the bike for your height? When you are standing next to the bike, the seat should be approximately at your hips. When peddling, you want full extension, but with a soft bend in the knees. Then you may need to adjust the height of the bars and position of the seat so that when you are at the first position (hands on bar closest to you), your arms can be straight with a slight bend in your back. I am not 100% sure what you mean about downward angled handlebars. Ours are flat and then come up slightly for the third position (all the way to the front of the bike)

Also you mentioned the peloton app has other workouts like strengh and conditioning, yoga, lifting etc, etc.. so these other workouts are not biking workouts right, they are just different workouts you can access in case you don't feel like biking? Do the strengh and conditioning workouts or other workouts include any weights, barbells, kettlebells etc, etc? Sorry for all the questions. Thank u
@OutsideChronicles4 жыл бұрын
No problem with the questions. Peloton offers a bunch of workouts. The categories of workouts are listed here: www.onepeloton.com/app. As for the strength workouts, there are all kinds for example full body, body weight, core, then they have body parts like chest and back, arms and shoulders, flutes and legs. They also have cardio workouts that are HIIT and Tabata based. It’s really a good value. I do not see kettlebell. The 49lbs fly wheel will be much smoother and also require more effort to turn, thus reducing the amount of friction you need to apply with the pad. Not at all, biking and swimming are really the two best cardio exercises that are minimal impact on your body. If you adjust the bike properly, you are ridding it almost upright, maybe a 15 degree bend. You are never hunched over like a road bike. Thanks for watching!

Is the cadence rate (on the screen at the 5:20 mark) your personal cadence, or the cadence suggested by the instructor? I downloaded the peloton and wahoo apps and can't figure out how to get that to show up. Thanks!
@OutsideChronicles4 жыл бұрын
The number on the screen is the output from the Wahoo Sensor. You need to listen to the instructors for the cadence and resistance queues. To link up the Wahoo in the app, there is a button on the right side for sensors when you are in a class. Click that and it will scan for it. You may also need to connect it in your Bluetooth settings on the phone.

I liked your video so much I just watched it a second time. Do you think the 1805 is worth the extra money over the b1002 ? Thanks again for a great video.
@OutsideChronicles4 жыл бұрын
So right now the 1002 is $350 and the 1805 is $600. Personally, I do not think it is worth $250. The resistance is smooth on the 1002 especially if you put some 3-in-1 oil on the leather pad. It makes it very quiet as well. There is no doubt the magnetic resistance will be smoother, quieter, and will not require replacement. Reviews on the 1805 continue to be positive, so I do not think you would be unhappy with it. If you read the comments, one person wishes they paid more for the magnetic. FYI, the Peloton bikes use magnetic. I am not sure if I helped your decisions process or made it worse.

Awesome job. Very well done. Very informative. Great info. Thank you very much for sharing! What is the Q-Factor on the B1002? You mentioned your surgery, I gather it doesn't bother your knees? I'm looking at the B1805. :-) As you mentioned would be an upgrade from the B1002 since it's a mag, but it doesn't have SPD. I want a mag bike with SPD and although I could add it later I prefer to not have to. I'm also looking at the B1709. The flywheel is in the back and is lighter, compensated by the gearing. It is a mag with SPD and electronics. And, looking at the Schwinn IC3. It has SPD, but isn't a mag bike. Finally, looking at the Sunny Lancer 7130. It has all of what I want, but is $800. :-) Tough decisions.

Cycling is one of the few cardio workouts that do not hurt my knees no matter how much I do. I think they will all be decent choices. I would have confidence recommended the Sunny and Schwinn bikes. I cannot say if the front vs. the rear flywheel is better. My observation is all of the top brands use the front flywheel. I would think there is a reason for that. Good luck, and the best bike is the one you are going to use with consistency.

The Synergy looks good, I would tend toward the Synergy Pro because of the heavier flywheel. Personally, I would not use the LCD monitors much. Is there enough resistance with the 30 pound flywheel on the SF-B1879? I’m not a serious spinner but I will be sharing the bike with my family. Do I NEED a 40 pound flywheel?
@rod26253 жыл бұрын
@@LSwaggard27 I firmly believe that the difference between a 30 or 40 lb flywheel is marginal. I am 225 lb and the feel and resistance of the 1879 is great for anyone. Everyone will get a good workout. Also only having about 7 full turns (some are 20+) makes it easy to increase/decrease resistance quickly. I believe that having a belt and magnetic drive as well as a monitor that includes cadence and distance are more of a consideration.

Hello, could you explain how do you match resistance to the instructors indicated during a class?? Do they call out cadence more often than resistance or vice versa??
@OutsideChronicles4 жыл бұрын
They give you both cadence and resistance. Resistance is usually in the range of 20-30% or 40-60%. So for the resistance, you kind of get used to it based on the cadence. If you are easily exceeding the cadence the instructor says, you need to crank it a bit and vice versa. I have found that when they say add 5, it is about a half of a crank. Add 15, crank and a half. That might vary with your strength. You want it to be hard but not impossible at each cadence/resistance. If you have too little on the sprints, you will feel the flywheel go faster than your feet, you should add resistance

Steven I have a HR monitor from my GPS watch. It is also Bluetooth and works with the app. So for the resistance, you kind of get used to it based on the cadence. If you are easily exceeding the cadence the instructor says, you need to crank it a bit and vice versa. I have found that when they say add 5, it is about a half of a crank. Add 15, crank and a half.
