these videos are awesome. even better than the subject matter is your obvious passion for the show. too many people would just put down these old sitcoms as nonsense and trash, but as long as there are people like you out there who do these kind of vids out of nothing more than love and respect we'll all benefit from seeing these golden oldies! thanks and keep up the great work!

Yes, Barbara Eden could sing well. While serving in the Marine Corps, I was at the John Wayne theater, located at Knott's Berry Farm. The show that evening was Barbara Eden and Soupy Sales together. They actually put on a good show, with both of them singing and a little comedy. This was in 1978 or 79.

At 32:02 for the split screen, you can see they placed a board vertically against the wall, but the just covered the baseboard with it and did not even try to conceal the break in the baseboard. You can also see the shadow from the right bar stool is cut off right at that board since that is that is the split.
@outsider2382 жыл бұрын
Haha! Yes and I forgot to mention it but you can just barely see Jeannie's leg start to disappear where the split is as well.
@justinturley70712 жыл бұрын
It's not really a baseboard it's how they filmed those two scenes. Barbara was later interviewed about how they filmed the split screen, Barbara would film 1 side as Jeannie with a double and another the very next day as Jeannie II, then the editors would cut a piece of film and tape one end to the other, which is why you see a darker shade in the middle of the screen, the same applied for Larry Hagman in Too Many Tony's in Season 1 and in The Case of My Vanishing Master Part 2.

Sid Melton was the Reporter in The Biggest Star in Hollywood. He was famous for appearing in Green Acres as the incompetent carpenter Alf Monroe, and one of my favorite roles of him was as Friendly Freddy an unsuccessful con-artist on Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.

Thanks for the 4th season walkthrough; many good episodes I'll have to view again. However, the episode "The Indispensable Jeannie," which I thought was great especially the final sequence where Jeannie made Mr. and Mrs. Bellows argue. Did you notice when Tony left the soda shop to go home, he glanced at his watch which had the name Thunderball in a circle around the dial? Also, you can see in the center of the dial what I think is 007, then below that is the word appreciation. Mabey, a souvenir Rolex from that Bond movie two years earlier. Thanks again for your presentation.😀

If you look in the background when jeannie is wearing the yellow dress with Bob Hastings, her picture is in the frame in back of her from the movie with elvis presley. I wonder if they did this on purpose.

Also worth noting, Columbia Pictures is Screen Gems. The Screen Gems name was actually named that, because no studios in the late 1940s were going into Television, because they thought they would lose money if they did that, but before, Ralph Cohn son of Co-founder Jack Cohn and nephew of Columbia's head, Harry Cohn, founded Pioneer Telefilms, a Television commercial company in 1947. Ralph later wrote a 50-page memo arguing that Columbia should be the first major film studio to move into television. Although Harry wasn't convinced by the suggestion, Columbia invested $50,000 acquiring Pioneer and reorganized it as Screen Gems. The studio started its new business in New York on April 15, 1949. If you by any chance seen The Three Stooges in syndication in the 1960s, they usually had a Screen Gems logo plastered at the beginning before a short came on.

@outsider2382 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think they did that to let the audience understand what was going on with the skunk. I'm thinking they were thinking that the audience wouldn't see what it was upside-down. That's my guess anyway! 😄

Great video.I can't believe that they are tearing down the neighborhood set at the old Columbia now Warner Ranch. Those house facades are television history going back to the Blondie movies of the 1930s and 1940s. A street there was actually named Blondie Street. The Heck house on the show 'The Middle' was on the street as well as the house in 'Wandavision'.

In How to Marry an Astronaut (it’s not a mistake per say in the background or how they film it, it has to do with the continuity) when Roger and Tony are talking about Jeannie’s sister, they mention how Jeannie’s sister blinked Roger to the tribe of picme (sorry if I couldn’t spell right), under the sea, and Antarctica where Roger almost froze to death, but if we remember Jeannie did all of that, the episode where she blinks Roger to the tribe of picme and under the sea were in the episode where Tony had amnesia (I’ll Never Forget What’s Her Name, Season 1 Episode 30), so Tony shouldn’t have any recollection of any of that (also Jeanne’s sister as we know her wasn’t mentioned as a Genie, but was mentioned as Jeannie’s little sister, but as a mortal), and the time Jeannie blinked Roger to Antarctica without a coat was by Jeannie in season 2. A weird continuity issue.

19:15 Can't tell what he says but what he is eating looks a lot like macaroni and cheese. It did (to me) looked like the first word of what he said was pork. I liked the 4th and 5th seasons more I think because Jennie got to wear her hair and clothes different and look more appealing. Started to get tired of the Jennie costume all the time. I also greatly appreciate you sharing this content with us. These are shows I grew up with and will never get tired of. BTW the saucer in the first season I recognize in an episode of Gomer Pyle and an episode of The Monkeys.

@kennyspaulding7962 жыл бұрын
@@outsider238 I'll bet that saucer was used in more but those 2 shows is what I got off the top of my head. There's something I've always wanted to know myself, maybe you do. I wish I could remember the exact episode and season it was, but it definitely was in the 2nd or 3rd. Tony and Rodger were going somewhere and Rodger says " I hope we go through Anderson Indiana", then Tony laughs and said "What's in Anderson Indiana" then Rodger said "I have a girlfriend there". Made me wonder why they put in a plug for Anderson. It was out of the blue and had nothing to do with the show. Being from this town I can't help but wonder. During the 60's other than being a growing town nothing's here. Just around 20 Delco Remy plants and 1 Guide Lamp plant (General Motors) all of them, but 1 are gone now thanks to Rodger Smith GM pres at the time.
