Well Desperados is from that era, the first game Desperados Dead or Alive was released in the same year as commandos 2. Desperados was actually quite the popular games back then.

This series existed long before Shadow Tactics, RDR or Hitman, this series is almost as old as commondos, the first game was released in 2001 (the same year as commondos 2), this game is fourth in the series (the second game had a spin off sequel name helldorados)

@@aegresen I am already playing Desperados and let me tell you, it's great. It has an interesting story, great humour, a lot of interesting twists on the mechanics established by Shadow Tactics, the characters have the same kind of great chemistry as in its predecessor and it still has the same great attention to detail. For example, Kate can seduce guards in her disguises, but she can only do that to men, women aren't interested in her.if you line up a shot with Doc McCoy's rifle, you can actually see him setting up his stuff as part of the animation, and so far my favourite, there is a level where characters make a bet of who can kill more badguys, Legolas&Gimli style. Well in that level after each kill, the respective character announces how much they've killed up to that point and make comments at each other's skills sometimes, based on the amounts they each have.

this is the third game (fourth if you count the spin off sequel of the second game) of an old and quite popular series, the first game was released in 2001 (same year as Commondos 2), the original developer had two other games that had the same genre Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood released in 2002 (medieval themed) and Chicago 1930 (Mafia themed) in the same genre. this one is developed by the same team that made Shadow Tactics (samurai theme) which is in the same genre (i think many people from old development team work with current developers on these games)

this one is actually kinda the fourth game in the series first one was Desperados Dead or Alive (2001), second one Desperados 2 Cooper's Revenge (2006), and a spin off which was the sequel to the second game called Helldorado which completed the plot of the second game

I was iffy about the "save and retry" style of this game at first, but I reckon it's a feature meant to encourage inclusion, experimentation & learning new tactics; rather than a cheap "get out of jail free" type situation. *OMG* There's a List Feature for you guys! Games That Gave You a Get Out of Jail Free Card (or some better title). I can already think of 7: 1. This Game's Aforementioned Retry Feature, 2. Rewind in Racing Games, 3. Timeline Control in Old School Platformers (like the Disney collection Like and Ellen played 😂), 4. The Bubble System in that Wii Mario Game (you respawn in a bubble instead of losing progress), 5. Save Anywhere (think Fallout), 6. Adjustable Difficulty Mid-Game (Skyrim) and 7. [You're the professionals I'm sure you've got one more in mind lol] If this actually gets used I'll be so ecstatic I'll sign up as a member of the channel! (I'll probably do that anyway soon) Hope you like the idea!

I played Commandos, haven't played Desperados, but this does feel a lot like Shadow Tactics, which was just Ninjas instead of Cowboys. The "Last Save" timer reminded me of it most. And having a look at google, it's made by the same developer, Mimimi Games, so no wonder it looks the same.

Neither he nor Mike seem to have found their streaming niche yet. Maybe this could be Andy's? Cowboys and stealth seem right up Andy's alley, and the quick-load feature means there's less downtime.

Is it just me, or does the gameplay of this game look really similar to another game that OX played before. I can't remember the name of the game, and I think they only made one video in it, but it was about a dad sneaking into a cult camp, trying to get his kid out. You had to stealth around bad cultists, and help good ones escape from the camp. Anyway, it kind of feels like this game may have been built on a similar engine.

Played the original Desperados as a kid and will probs pick this up due to liking the core gameplay and seeing the positive reviews but wish they'd have made this a tad less cartoonish and toned the UI down a bit
