I will add though that although it this fact is kinda irrelevant since they don’t use pokéballs in the ranger games one episode of the anime basically confirmed that pokéballs have a infinite oxygen supply or they have no need for it while inside the pokéballs. In the episode Ash and his group help retrieve a pokéball from his old school locker as he wasn’t able to get it before the area was flooded for an artificial dam. His Pokémon was in that pokéball underwater for over five years if I remember correctly. So pokéballs definitely have some way to get around the need for oxygen.

Nancy can suffocate in an ancient mummy coffin, be blown up by cooking a cake too hot for too long, be violently murdered, be violently murdered by a ghost, burn up in a fire, crash in an elevator, be electrocuted, be lost at sea while kayaking, drown ... the list goes on. In the later games the deaths earn pithy one liners on the game over screen and it's extra funny to remember these are aimed at 10 and up are very family friendly otherwise.

This is a bit late I know, but in Planscape: Torment your main character is immortal so even when he loses a fight and dies he eventually gets back up and the game continues, dying is even an optional way to solve some puzzles, but there are two ways that I know of to die for real and permanently. The first is in the brothel where on of the girls hides her face and is strongly implied to be a medusa. Ask to see her face enough and go through enough warnings and she turns you to stone. The other is when you meat a powerful death cleric under the city if you decide to attack him, the game simply tells you, " you've tested your immortality against the wrong person." And its game over.

You can actually die in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as well. During the ghost trial, if you choose to look under the Mimikyu's disguise, the game will fade to black and you'll restart at a previous point in time, alluding to how Mimikyu's real form is so scary that it causes instant death if you look at it.

In Datting sims’s Visual Novels style you CANN’T die. Let’s take “Katawa Shoujo” for an example... in that game, you CAN NOT die. It’s not like you could make the worst decisions on the first chapter ending drinking on the rooftop with yor best pal Kenji and, suddenly, falling from there because Kenji pushed you off from the place... ... .... ..... Ups... I was wrong... Sorry, Hisao... I only tried to obtain an harem ending...😔 xDD

One of my favourites is Spider-Man 2 (based on the movie), where you have a five minute tutorial in an enclosed rooftop area. It is possible, by climbing to the top and jumping as high as you can, to fall far enough to damage yourself. Do it enough, and you can die in the tutorial, which triggers a special message from Bruce Campbell's narrator expressing surprise that you can die that early.

AFLoneWolf did you not read the title or watch the video? You can die in Mass Effect 2 multiple times without much effort. The point of these games is it takes effort to kill yourself.
@Cyfrik4 жыл бұрын
@@TheAlan136 Yes, but I'd argue that this is at least "honorable mention" territory, because it's different from a regular death. It makes you unable to import your savefile into the next game.

Harvest Moon is a pretty tame farming sim, but (as well as dying from old age in one game) if you carefully raise a max level toadstool in Harvest Moon DS then put it in the town potluck, you kill both yourself and the entire town. There’s no warnings but considering it takes many in game years to get to that point, I don’t think people are doing it by accident.

Technically in All of The Dark Souls Games you Play as an Undead Character that's Trying to permanently Die by Sacrificing himself to restore order in the world (oversimplification of the Story but still) the only way to Do so is to Beat the Game(and make the Right choises in some cases) so it's actually VERY hard to die in Dark Souls

From what I remember of The Stanley Parable, Stanley canonically dies in all but one ending. The only way to *not* die is to do everything the Narrator tells you to when he tells you to do it.

Disney princess: a magical journey was a fever dream. Not only were the controls terrible, but as you were nuking little green gremlins throughout the level, you couldn’t even die because the health bar would barely move if you got hit! Seriously! I tried to get killed in that game and I waited for a good 12 hours before I got near the end and then my character just killed the enemies on its own😂🤣

1:18 well, as long as you disregard "tripping" off the loading dock (from either side), jumping from the top of the staircase in order to listen to the voice in your head becoming increasingly depressed, going insane and dying of (presumably) a heart attack after being trapped in the basement (or whatever actually happened, since he's found in the street), being crushed by a trash compactor that is in the secret underground facility...for some reason...and the collapse of the world after creating a gaming logic paradox (it makes sense in context?)

Hotel Dusk and the sequel Last Window are the most "adult" games I had on the DS. There's no blood/gore or any sexual content, but it's a rather relaxing mystery novel game with a very unique art style and subtle atmosphere, also it takes itself a bit more seriously without getting awkward. Sadly, almost nobody was too impressed by it and the developers shut down after that. :(
