Well, technically that use of time travel can have really good effects as you can knock out the owner of the mansion, stopping him from walking in on the ritual that drove him to insanity, and improving the lives of everyone on the island because he'll still be around later to help keep the island out of dark times. But, yeah. I'd be lying if I said I didn't use the time piece to knock down the balcony, knock out guards and dogs, steal a bunch of stuff, and other general hooliganism.

I normally don't bother to play the lottery, there's two chests with 100 rupees in town that are super easy to get to. I pick them up, deposit them, and leave town. If you're abandoning a dungeon run to pick up 50 rupees, no wonder people whine about not having time to explore and find things.

Regarding Majora's mask, worse than scanning the lottery is scanning the banker. When you deposit rupees he updates your balance with invisible ink on your hand. When you go back in time, the rupees are no longer in his bank, but you can still withdraw them throwing his whole accounts out of balance.

I would use time travel purely to mess with future historians. Etch "Detective Pikachu is great" into a wall at Pompeii, right an amazingly accurate book of prophecy and keep it safe in some old bank or something. Lot's of little things that they just couldn't explain.

The Prince of Persia series centers around time travel and time traveling powers, would love to see it in a commenters edition. Shout out to POP "Sands of Time" it's ending has you travelling back to the start of the game erasing everything you've done!

Second Vote for Commenter edition. Especially when the cannonical ending of the 2nd game completely removes the already trunciated 1st game and then the 3rd game happens because the first game didn't happen at all. Yup that definately made sense.

@@sethlester9966 Particularly annoying was the fact that some of the backtracking in the game was glitched (I don't know if it ever got patched out), with a save point past the point of no return on the glitched path, so it was possible to not just miss out on fighting the Dahaka, but on being able to finish the game at all... On the other hand, the Prince isn't really that irresponsible with his time powers - he uses them to stay alive while he attempts to undo a city-destroying (possibly world-ending) cataclysm, and expose the evil vizier whose machinations led to the cataclysm; he uses them to try to find a way to not die as a result of his world-saving hijinks; and he uses them to prevent a similar cataclysm from unfolding in the altered timeline. So far from being irresponsible with them is he, that he ultimately chooses to accept an imperfect timeline rather than risk meddling further, so I'm not sold on him belonging on this list...

The storm wasn’t caused by Max’s powers. Sped up, maybe. But the freaky weather and beached whales happened in the alternate timeline where Chloe was paralyzed, where that reality’s Max had never used her powers.

Max only went back in time to possess herself. Didn't physically alter the timeline at that point, which doesn't explain how she still had that ability while possessing herself. Bit of a time loophole?

Though she didn't travel back deliberately, Max prevented William (Chloe's Dad) from using the car that day so he didn't die in an accident. Which later led to William buying Chloe a car in the future which caused her car accident (irony). Max had to go back in time again to when she was younger to let William die. The storm is probably slowed down in the alternate timeline because Max hadn't used her powers as much, but she still screwed around with time. I've always taken it that Max always had her powers (because she could use them as her younger self) but only discovered it and figured out how to use it when Chloe gets shot.

It was though. Every time Max used her powers to mess with time it creates a small ripple, that is usually small and will not have much of an impact, like throwing a small pebble into a stream. Yeah there will be a bit of ripples but the path of the stream isn't effected by this. However when she goes for the larger changes, like when she first saved Chloe's life, it created a larger change that couldn't be ignored, so change out the pebble for a large rock. The stream will now divert to a degree, causing different things to happen that would not have happened in the original timeline. The more large scale events that Max changes the more the stream is diverted and pushed to this point where the storm is a certainty. This is of course an extreme over simplification of this particular view of time travel.

But the aliens gifted time travel abused it so much more. I don’t know a specific area but there must have been something.

using a time manipulation device, i'd crank my personal speed to 5x if ever i get into street fights, that'll mess up the enemy real good (maybe even develop enough speed to run up a building and drop something heavy below), i imagine it would look like the fight scene in the movie immortals (2011), where the greek gods fought the titans at hyperspeed, crushing their skulls while still dropping midair. also, i'd do the following: -spend 14days at a resort when its just a day in the real world; -crank myself up 3x faster and finish a 3hr exam in just 1hr, possibly even maximize perfecting it up to 9hrs; -do anything urgent in half the expected time, earn the respect of people important to me; -with time manipulation devices, it is very very possible to mass produce crops and fruits and veggies and farm animals at very fast speeds, and then store perishable items at ultra-low speeds; imagine being able to store meats in refs set to 1% normal speed and retrieving them only decades later, start entertaining zero-spoilage; -skip the coronavirus lockdown and jump back in only when its all done, a few months of inactivity gone in just a minute. originally i thought of spending my life only in the 3 months of summer, then skip on to the next summer 9mos later, skip altogether the gloomy parts of the year, watch everybody else grow older while i seemingly-stay younger longer in the real world, hyper-extend my life a few more decades into the future than normal, watch how everything we did turns out; -if ever there's anything that needs waiting, merely slowing down my speed will seemingly make the world go faster, and the waiting time shorter, the exact opposite of beating the deadline for something urgent. the device needs to be wearable, you run the risk of staying at the altered speed forever if you drop the device on account its not worn on your body, like if its in the form of a smartphone or something handheld, that's a really stupid design, at least place it in a backpack (something clinging to your body) if its really big.

In what has to be the most and least responsible use of time travel all in one, the protagonists of Heroes Reborn Gemini and Heroes Reborn Enigma use time travel to enact a 4d plan that keeps a serum that would allow the villain to destroy everything out of his hands but also create a stable timeloop that causes a nuclear meltdown at the facility they are being experimented on resulting on their efforts being lost from time.

Not a video game example, but Phillip J. To be fair, 50 rupees for a lottery is a ripoff, especially at 10 rupees a ticket. You can go outside and make 50 rupees in a couple minutes by cutting the grass. What's more scummy is the fact that you're taking *other people's rupees* when you withdraw rupees in the past, because you haven't actually deposited anything in that timeline.

I remember Nanosaur as one of the only three games we got to play perhaps twice a year 2nd grade in computer class. I had no idea how it was done and class was short, so I never picked up any eggs, was aware of the time limit, or had any idea of there being any kind of story or objective in the first place, lol.
