You guys have no idea how unbelievably grateful I am for your daily posts. I'm very immune compromised due to 2 immune disorders & after 3 years Covid finally caught up with me (I was lucky enough to get both kinds so imagine pneumonia plus a stomach flu). I'm very fortunate to be recovering at home, going on week 4 since first symptoms started because I've somehow picked up another respiratory virus without leaving home, so having videos to watch every day has kept me very entertained.

I mentioned a few months ago, about protecting your hands when you are dumpster diving, instead of wearing medical rubber gloves can irritate the hands. Not to mention how uncomfortable they are to wear. I have indicated that I wear garden gloves that are breathable with a rubber padding on the palms that can slow down on sharp objects and pointy objects. I am glad you took up my offer, good job frugal daddie!

Omg that was an outstanding haul. I couldn’t believe they threw the unopened box of cookies away too. That was a lot of money in the dumpster. I myself never buy cookies usually but wanted a package of nutter butter cookies and almost had a stroke when I saw the price needless to say I didn’t get them. Food prices are outrageous. It’s great to see someone making use of what would otherwise be in the landfill.

I’m more thrilled about the mint Oreos than anything else!🤣 Back in the day, I could put away an entire sleeve of Thin Mints in one sitting - yummm! That was a wonderful haul - so much good meat - even a whole turkey plus so much good stuff! A real blessing for the deserving Frugal Family!❤️❤️

I absolutely loved this Aldi dive, it reminded me of when you and Frugal Mummy used to go out and dive together and always seemed to find a lot of stuff. So now you have 2 Turkey's so if I actually lived near you, I would say everyone round to yours, it's an English thing. But slowly but surely your getting Christmas together,the girls have there gingerbread to build, you have Turkey and stuffing, you have sausage and bacon for pigs in blankets and I'm sure some other things that have slipped my mind. I enjoy watching all of your dives old and new, even the curbside shopping videos are great! Once I have my bad eyes worked on, I aim to get myself a car along with whatever else I need to dumpster dive and I am going to eventually become a driver too. You find some awesome hauls FD! YOU INSPIRE ME! On one hand, it is disgraceful how much is wasted but one can learn a lot just watching you guys. It seems like Aldi throws things out by the case too! My husband works in retail in South Africa. We do not throw away, dog food gets donated to shelter and if food is heading towards being expired, staff may purchase it at a massive reduced cost like 90% off. Also they have charity that picks up food once a week for the less fortunate. Electronic are always sent back to the manufacturer,as well as stationary.

I agree, toasted rolls and sliced Turkey is nicer than the dinner. And pretzels dipped in honey mustard is nice. When it comes to Oreos, I don’t trust the oils they use to make the cream filling. I always scoop it out anyway. The little that’s left is enough. I smash Oreo cookies without the cream and put it over soft ice cream cones. Better than sugary sprinkles.

The only chocolate I eat is chocolate mint and marzipan with chocolate. Cannot bear Oreos, I couldn’t finish the biscuit the first time I ate one it was awful. Otherwise what a fabulous haul Frugal Daddy. Such variety. Those German biscuits you opened are delicious. My husband used to love them.

You can make crustless pumpkin pie, or a rectangular dish of pumpkin custard. It works better in a glass pan than a metal pan and you want to grease your pan pretty well. Add 2 or 3 extra eggs to your custard and use whole milk or half-n-half. Fill your pie dish to about 1.5 inches deep. - You can also make pumpkin custard in a pot on the stove stirring constantly; usually it comes out monster, softer, or thinner 'cause you're working to keep it from scorching. The old "Joy of Cooking" cook book has a discussion of this in the preamble portion of the dessert custards. This can also be done for a crustless quiche which is a baked, savory egg custard.

We used to buy those years back when my nieces and I would go to World Market. Great fine with a turkey and the bags of potatoes the cookie train set for the kids and the little nappy with the unicorns wow you got a lot of good stuff in there not to mention all the meat

Are y’all not worried about food poisoning from the foods that need refrigeration? I know eggs don’t really need refrigeration but pre-made chicken salad or frozen foods like fresh meats or toaster strudels, Banquet meals, etc…wouldn’t they be thawed already?

I never worry about it. We have never gotten sick from dumpster food. it is pretty easy to tell what ha gone off and what is still good. All the chicken and hamburger meat were great - I opened them all, smelled them, re-bagged, and froze. The turkey I gave away.
