Love the bike! My husband and I used to go together but I sold mine. Wishing I still had it as passenger is second best. Hope you enjoyed your ride, we are off now for a short one. Thanks again for a great tutorial.

I multiplied the thickness of the wire by 2, and the result allowed me to save time stretching the bezel.

Thank you so much for all your videos, it has been great help. Hoping you could help me with step bezel for cushion cut cabochons? How can I shape the step bezel wire correctly to fit inside the bezel? Thanks a ton!

Thanks again Soham. I have just finished setting a ring and decided it was too large, so cut through the bottom of the silver band to resize it, and stood it head first in some wet sand to keep the stones cool... I thought I could solder it back together but I don't think the metal is heating up enough - tried 5 times. What do you think?? Cooked the little c.z. side stones :( but the main spinel is fine. P.S. Tasmania in summer is where you go for a bike tour!

HI! Awesome video - as usual. Why wouldn't you just put the wire on the bezel BEFORE soldering it together??Seems like it would be so much easier...I know that someone in my studio does this but they are unapproachable - I see their work from afar - and I know that is how they do it....any comments? Ideas?

Thanks for another great video. Could a gal use silver tube instead of a jump ring for the bail? How would I go about doing this, please?

Thanks Soham another fantastic lesson learned. I may have missed it, but how do you work out the OD OR ID of the step for the bezel.
@1soham111 жыл бұрын
OD (l+w/2)+thickness of materialx3.14 ID (l+w/2)-thickness of materialx3.14 i am pretty sure it is in there

My goodness you make that look so darn easy! Why don't my bezels turn out as clean as that? Thanks so much for sharing this. b

And...can I solder this onto a band to make a ring? In other words, can I attach my ring shank (what ever design I choose (perhaps a split would be nice for the one you just did) to the sides/bottom of the bezel???
@danicalee89644 жыл бұрын
Lori did you try soldering to ring shank? I wasn't successful as the step/seat melted Even though I used hard solder. It melted when trying to melt medium solder from the shank to the bezel.

wondering how you keep your solder pics so tidy? mine look like blobs on the ends.. can I file them without ruining my files because of the titanium ? we are in mid summer here in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. nice bike--. I am trying the step bezel, but soldered the square wire to the bezel first, and as I am trying to form it to the oval stone the square wire is twisting. What can I do to stop that? Should I start over with this technique?

usually the sand or water cools the silver off too much. i havent had much luck trying to do this, i usually pull out the stones and just solder
@sohamharrison11 жыл бұрын
no worries, the files are harder than the titanium. my picks are tungsten which i much prefer. try one
@sohamharrison11 жыл бұрын
of course you can, if it is the small jump ring, just slice a piece off a small tube. for the bail just use bits of paper to get the idea if what you want, then transfer to silver, and saw, file and solder it all together.
@sohamharrison11 жыл бұрын
i like .5 thick bezels, so i have a sheet of fine silver that i cut to the proper height

pleasure, hang in there ! the double third hand should be a good helper for you.
@sohamharrison11 жыл бұрын
not really, just make sure you have enough metal to go around the stone, anneal it then wrap it tightly around and cut where it crosses over itself
