Trish...I know this is a little confusing. There is 2 kinds of measuring cups. One for solids(like the rice) and one for liquids(like the broth) the cup you used was for liquid only that's why it has a little spout to pour liquids out. So you need to invest in some solid measuring cups...they don't have spouts that's how you'll know the difference...or just look up "solid measuring cups" and it will pull up the correct ones. Hope this helps. This can make a difference on how things cook.

For perfect rice first rince the rice 4-6 times until the water is pretty clear. Then do 1 part rice to 1.5 parts liquid. Cook 5 minutes on high until its bubbling then switch it to low for 15 minutes. 5 minutes with heat off but leave it in to cook with residual heat. Cook times may be longer depending on amount and if it's in the oven. Looks good though, going to try this!

Wash the rice to remove the sticky starchy feeling (it also makes sure there’s no germs on the rice whatsoever as even “washed” rice needs to be washed for safety. Dry rub marinades are best left for a minimum of four hours in the fridge after rubbing on or overnight for best flavour results. A cup of rice in volume isn’t the same as a cup of liquid so if you can get solid/dry ingredient cup measures they’d be a good investment. Or take your largest measuring spoon (those plastic ones you were sent) and look up how many of those makes the equivalent of a cup. Your skills are definitely improving though and baking rice in the oven is trial and error as everyone’s oven is slightly different. Well done you on levelling up and teaching yourself how to cook before the baby arrives. X

You should always put 2 baking sheets on aluminium pans. It's not healthy to cook on them or to bake . Good luck!! It's also not so good to cook in it. It's better with oil. Also with the chicken skin. It's good to cook this dish in a pot with a lid. It should be with enough water for the rice according to how many cups you cook and a little bit more. It's better to mix the spices with oil and rub the chicken. I don't cook chicken with butter because I keep Kosher.

I think there was too much water added. The chicken will produce about a half cup of broth. There should be equal amounts of rice and liquid. So I would put about half a cup less liquid in it. Keep it covered for 45 minutes. U don't think it needs to be cooked uncovered. Or for more than 45 minutes. Also use 2 pieces of foil to cover to get a good seal.
@tiamarie432 жыл бұрын
You didn't put nearly enough salt in when you seasoned the chicken that's why it didn't taste 'seasoned' enough to you, salt should be roughly make up an 1/8 up to 1/4 of any good seasoning mix, you put a few tiny grinds in a bowl full

Trish!! How to you look THIS good THIS pregnant?? You go girl!
@a.g.34122 жыл бұрын
Hi Trish! First off, chicken needs to be marinated over night. Keep the skin on, the skin will coat the rice well and add flavor. You need to put slits into the raw chicken and coat the chicken with oil and put the seasoning on. Keep in in a ziploc bag overnight.. the marinade / seasoning will seep into the slits in the chicken. Second of all when you applied the broth and water, you should have mixed in all together with the butter. Only then, once all the rice was evenly coated with broth, you add the chicken.. You just poured the liquid around the chicken which resulted in some mushy parts and some uncooked parts.

Difference between Hebrews and Egyptians: So Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel. Cain killed Abel, and then Adam and Eve had another son named Seth. Cain's lineage does not follow God and ends up corrupting the world, and Seth's lineage does follow God - which brings us to Noah, a descendent of Seth. God tells Noah that the world will be flooded and every breathing thing will be destroyed, except Noah and his family (wife, 3 sons and their wives) and the chosen animals on an arc that he is to build. After the flood happened, Noah's 3 sons multiplied the earth; of these 3 sons, 1 of the sons did not choose to follow God and was cursed, and 1 of the sons' lineage includes Abraham. God came to Abraham to make a deal with him - Abraham was old and didn't have any kids (his wife was barren). God said He would give Abraham many many sons, and God will be with the descendants and make the lineage His "chosen people" in the world. Abraham ends up having sons, and from his son Isaac come the HEBREWS. Isaac's grandson I believe is Jacob and God changes Jacob's name to "ISRAEL". Here comes the term "Israelites" (not to be mistaken with modern day place called Israel - this became a UN recognized nation in the 1970s I believe). Anyways, from Jacob/ISRAEL's lineage (he has 12 sons which starts the 12 Tribes of Israel), they end up in Egypt, and basically after generations, there are many Hebrews in Egypt. Egypt is a place, and Hebrews are a people (descendants from Abraham/Isaac). Moses is a Hebrew baby, and the king of Egypt wants to kill all Hebrew male babies because he is afraid when the babies grow up, they will outnumber and take over Egypt (the Hebrews are in Egyptian land kind of underneath the Egyptians like slaves). Moses is saved by his mother putting him in a basket, and the King of Egypt's wife finds Moses and keeps him and raises him as Egyptian. Hope that helped
@s3h77c2 жыл бұрын
And King David comes from the tribe of Judah (1 of the 12 sons of Jacob/Israel), and King David has King Solomon, and generations later there is Joseph (who ends up marrying Mary, a virgin who is miraculously with child to be named Jesus or YESHUA in Hebrew). There are many prophesies (or predictions/promises/things to come in the future) in the Old Testament (which of the 39 books in Old Testament, the first 5 books are called The Torah by Jews of this day I believe). This child born from a virgin Hebrew girl named Mary apparently fulfills many of the prophesies in the Old Testament, which looks towards the future but was told in the past; One of the prophesies was that a King would be brought up from King David's lineage that would bring justice and save people, to be called a certain name. Technically, Joseph is Jesus's earthly father (not by blood but by marriage of Jesus' earthly/blood mother Mary), and Joseph is from King David's lineage - thus fulfilling said prophesy of being from King David. So this is why Jesus is argued as the Son of God and the Savior of Mankind - He was killed on a cross innocently, but it is disputed if Jesus truly rose from the dead or not (I guess this is where 'faith' comes in to those who believe that Jesus died, came back to life through the power and authority given to him by God, and is still alive today, creating a bridge between all of mankind and God through the ultimate sacrifice of his innocent blood) In Old Testament/Torah, innocent blood had to be shed to offer a sacrifice to God to continue a relationship between the Israelites and God. The first 5 books of Old Testament/The Torah was allegedly written by Moses, and basically what happened after Moses grew up and led the Hebrews out of Egypt by the power of God, God told Moses how to keep these people aligned with God and to not be lead astray (remember -the world is corrupt and full of “sin” which separates one from God. So in order to keep all of God’s promises that He has made with His people (Abraham being one of them remember?), God gives Moses a way to help His people stay out of sin and thus, closer to God.) Does Jesus fulfill the prophesies/promises made by God? If Jesus had sinless, innocent and perfect blood, and it was shed, does that eternally eradicate the Old Testament/Torah law that the Israelites were to follow to be God's chosen people? Again, that’s the big question.

I made a variation of this when I first started learning how to cook in my twenties. I would buy a picnic pack of chicken pieces and a package of yellow rice. Like mahatma, uncle Ben's, vigo, it's preseasoned so all you do is put rice and chicken in a baking pan, add water and bake. Super easy. Since the chicken will release some broth during cooking decrease the Water by a half a cup in the recipe.

Also these cooking videos if they turn out or not is not important.the main thing is you providing us with ideas in your own way .I can't stand cooking videos but your cooking videos I love to watch .that's the key !! Keep going My teenagers tried the chicken and tortillas recipe which they loved .they watched your video to get recipe . Remember doesn't matter if they don't entirely turn out .it's the fact it's done by you and that is so educational .even my teenagers got to cook because they were inspired .that's fab Moses is fab also ,he has kind imput into any suggestions x I actually watch your cooking videos for ideas as I hate cooking and you inspire me because it's not always perfect but often is , and gives me hope who is terrible cook to actually try cooking Love listening to Moses ,he is wise .

Rice is actually very easy to cook measure out roughly how much you want wash it until the water runs clear fill the pan with wate so it covers the rice and about an inch above it cook it on high until it starts to bubble turn it right down to the lowest put the lid on your rice is done in twenty minutes people over complicate things by cups etc I live in the uk this is how my mum taught me and it works

Trisha, does Moses ever crave Egyptian cuisine? Because it is delicious. I remember certain places where my old friend used to take me to try it, and I loved it. Just wondering. Your own recipe here is worth a try. Looks awesome 👌.

Too much seasoning that’s why Moses was low key scraping the seasoning off the top of the chicken if you notice.

“I measured it all perfectly” as she used wet measuring cups to measure a dry ingredient and also over filled the rice and just guessed how much to pour in instead of Re-measuring it again properly. 😂

Hey There Young Love.. What I Do When Making My Chicken And Rice Is This: THE CHICKEN, I Take Off As Much Fat From My Chicken Thighs As I Can.. (Yes I Use CHICKEN THIGHS) They Seem To Cook Better With This Dish.. I Season Then Baked Them Till Their About 10-15 minutes From Being Done.. I Take Them Out And Put Them On The Stove.. The RICE: I Mix Jasmine Rice, Mexican Yellow Rice, And Some Rice Sides Of My Choice.. I Cook Them Altogether Untill THEIR About 5 Minutes From Done.. I Add A Can Of CREAM OF CHICKEN And Some Milted Butter.. About A Half STICK.. PSA: (YES THIS IS NOT A HEALTHY MEAL BY NO MEANS.. IJS..🤷♀️ Hence WHY I ONLY MAKE This Dish Once A Year For THANKSGIVING.) I Mix The Cream Of Chicken And Milted Butter Into My Rice. I Then Place My Rice In The Baking Dish I'm Using To Bake This Dish And Serve It Out.. I Pour Some Of The Chicken Dripping From The Chicken On & All Around The Top Of The Rice, Not Too Much Though.. And I Add My Chicken Thighs On Top Of My Rice.. Adding A Little Of The Chicken Jiuce On Top Of The Chicken And I Put My Dish Back In The Over For About 15-20 More Minutes And I Remove From Oven And Let It Rest For 20 Mins.. And When I Tell YOU!!!! OMGOODNESS IT'S LITERALLY SUPER DELICIOUS TRISH I KID YOU NOTTT!! SUPER YUMMY!! 😋 OH VERY IMPORTANT!!: YOU HAVE TO USE A DEEP BAKING PAN WHEN MAKING THIS DISH FOR SURE!! I Just Buy Two Deep Foil Pans From The Dollar Store And Put A Good Strong Metal Pan Underneath For Extra Support And For Any Spillish That May Happen.. Try It THIS Way.. You Won't Be Disappointed!! And May God Have His Hands All Over You And Your Husband And Your Labor/ Delivery And Post Delivery Of Your Sweet Baby Girl As She Comes Into This World.. God Bless You And Your Beautiful Family Young Love..🥰

THE GOSPEL Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: - 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 KJV Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13 KJV SAVALATION For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16 KJV For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. - Isaiah 53:5 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. - Mark 1:15 KJV He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36 KJV Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 2 Timothy 1:9 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. - Romans 10:9-11 KJV For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:13 KJV

Moses’ hair looks great short Trish. I’ve seen people in reddit saying it’s horrible, they gotta be either blind or stupid. Minute rice might help the recipe work better next time. I’m sure it was still delicious though! ❤
