Love chippies so much! Really Great video ^_^ Another great variation is to put some coconut sugar on them (or add to spice mix) adds a nice sweetness. Also lemon juice can be a great addition. Just sending an email to you x

We have an air fryer which we use for making fries and it works great! the spices I like are cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder and sometimes a touch of rosemary. Sometimes if im being lazy i use pre-mixed spice blends, cajun and fajita seasonings both work well.

I haven't had potato fries in so long, and now I really want them! I'll be sharing this recipe with my husband. He has been recently eating plant based due to my influence and a while back I bought him some Silpat baking mats. So this would be a great way to use them!
@thevegancorner10 жыл бұрын
Li-San Loves I can't believe you managed to turn your husband into a vegan :D Well done my dear. I have a few of those Silpat mats and love them, but when it comes to this recipe I prefer greaseproof paper as the potatoes are much easier to remove once they are cooked. Thanks for watching ;)

i just made these and it turned out very crispy! i never had homemade fries this crispy n i used to use oil ha! only thing i had to extend the time, i kept them in an extra 15-18 mins instead of the 10 suggested here. thanks for this easy and delicious recipe guys!
@thevegancorner9 жыл бұрын
ninjaturtles12121 Any oven has it's ups and downs, and the temperature knob usually ends up being a joke rather than a precise instrument. This is probably why you had to extend the cooking time, which is something I have to do too sometimes. Thank you for letting us know that you enjoyed the recipe :) I love positive feedback ;)

The Vegan Corner I don't dampen the fries, the starch helps the spices stick then I bake for 30+ minutes at 450 until crispy. There are always variations in spices and temps, etc. Some people like to boil the potatoes at first but who has the time lol. I'm not a professional but I've come up with lots of tasty low fat recipes that people seem to be enjoying. I'm happy that more people are going vegan and not eating animals. :)
@thevegancorner10 жыл бұрын
Potato Strong Thanks for the tips :) We share the same point of view on this, the only important thing that matters for us, is to see more vegans around.
@sofaGuruji10 жыл бұрын
I might be swearing in Church now, but I always pre Cook the potatos in the microwave for 3-5 minutes before I frie them in the oven. This makes the fries soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I know many belive that the microwave is unsafe, but I don`t :-)
@thevegancorner10 жыл бұрын

I recently watched a video where they took the skins from the squash, pumpkin and potato and made them into crisps. However, they used a ton of oil before they put it in the oven. I've had great success getting my potatoes to Crisp in the oven oil free (thanks to you). I can't seem to get the crisps or the pumpkin seeds to work. In America pumpkin is seasonal right now and there is a lot of excess pumpkin going to waste because people only use them for decoration. I hate waste! We tend to collect them and eat many pumpkin for free! I'd love to see what different healthy variations you could come up with to give us a few extra ideas!

Stephanie Penglase Hi and thanks for your message. Unfortunately we have received so many requests from people that we can no longer accept them. The list of foods we were requested to make is now so long that we will never manage to make them all, not even in 5 years. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoy watching our videos, but I'm afraid I won't be able to help you at this time. I hate waste too, and we never waste food around here! Thanks for watching
@spenglase10 жыл бұрын
I understand! I look forward to every video that you post. I'm so excited to have found somebody that uses fat free oil just like I do lol. It's vegans like you (and your partner) who are more interested in highlighting flavor in recipes that help vegans like I who struggle to convert their families. We aim to try every new recipe you post, and I'm proud to watch my family satisfied after a completely vegan meal scratching their heads wondering why they don't miss the meat. lol! Slowly, but surely they're coming around! Especially once they realize that clean eating tastes (and feels) so much better than all the fatty foods that they've been putting in their body for so many years. Thank you for your reply and videos! Be well my friend!

They look great. Would you recommend steaming the fries before baking to speed up the cooking time?
@thevegancorner10 жыл бұрын
Klea Kay The time needed to cook these fries is for creating a crispier outer layer, so no; steaming or boiling the potatoes first will not speed up the cooking process, as the outside layer will still need the same time to properly brown. I hope this help :) Thanks for watching

Vegan Vlogs No worries, if you don't wash the potatoes it doesn't change much. Starches have a poor flavour release, which means that they actually cover flavour instead of adding it. +The Vegan Corner My pleasure. Thanks to you I don't have to starve on vegan diet. I prepared them exactly like in your recipe and I am amazed by the taste. Now I am addicted. They're better than grease covered fries from the shop and the amount of work you have to put in them is not big.

+Alien Dissection My girlfriend is also in love with this recipe and she prepares it quite frequently. And the funny thing is that she comes here on the channel to look for the ingredients :D Thanks again for using our preparations

That's it!!!!!!!!! I am buying an oven..... :) (sold mine when I went fully raw some years ago...........)
@thevegancorner10 жыл бұрын
PisangGila I did the same mistake, but I didn't stop to the oven unfortunately. I hope we learn from our mistakes, because this one was indeed a very expensive mistake ;) Thanks for watching

The Vegan Corner Me too, I sold or gave away almost everything from my kitchen. I ended up having only 2 bamboo bowls, 1 knife & fork and my vitamix.... :)

PisangGila :D That's hilarious (not really). Same thing here, we have more blenders than burners now... :)

+Aria Graham I love Game of Thrones ;) Please let me know how the fries turned out! Thanks for another of your comments

So do I! ❤ The chips turned out soooo good oh my. I used the spices recommended in the video as well as some allspice. Half way through when checking on the fries I accidentally dropped the baking tray on the ground and the babies fell on the floor hahahaha. I had half left though so all was well :3

+Aria Graham So sorry to hear that the chips dropped on the ground. Fortunately you were able to save some of them, which is a good thing. Thanks for letting me know that you enjoyed the chips :)

Those chips turned out to be rather good, especially with some sweet and sour sauce. I hope you didn't mind me using some extra indian spices on the potatoes... You and your team seem to be making very nice videos, hope it continues to go well for you. ☺️ And, this may sound odd....but your way of speaking makes me think of an Angelic Apocalypse. Scary and fascinating.... Or maybe it's just your Italian tounge.

Utaqie I don't mind at all! As I always say, there is no way to make a recipe perfect for everybody and you did well by adding as many spices as you wanted to :) Thanks for your kind words about our work, I liked the "scary and fascinating" thing very much. Thanks for watching
