In 1984 I was a 10 year old kid that lived in Minnesota that visited my grandparents in San Antonio every year that always included visits to the Riverwalk and the Alamo. You can't imagine how cool it was to see this movie filmed in locations I visited in real life at that exact time period. A perfect movie starring a kid my age in a city I have my fondest memories of growing up visiting. A watch is like going back in time to what I remember. One of my greatest movies in my collection.

I'm close to your age and had the same experience, except I LIVED in San Antonio. Henry Thomas was from there too, in case you didn't know. It was a big deal in the local news when he was in E.T.

I was about 14 years old when I watched this movie which I really enjoyed but couldn't remember its name until recently. I remember staying at my oldest brother's house on the weekends for saturday night movies as they had a VHS player and we didn't. After watching movies like this one, we would jump on my cousin's Commodore 64 or Texas Instrument computer to manually type commands to create video games from the computer magazines back then. Those were the days!! Thanks for this review, now I feel really old 😆

I'm an 80s kid and this was a big part of my childhood. I grew up in San Antonio and it was AMAZING to me see all the locations in the film that I knew and had been to many times. I got this 4k for $45. I bought it right away. With VS, you have to be QUICK. Their stuff is limited and sells out soooo fast. Then you're stuck buying it from scalpers on Ebay. I'm still upset that I missed out on RAD.

Love the care and attention to detail that went into this! The movie definitely looks better with your “nostalgic eyes.” 😂 We watched a lot of crazy crap in the 80s!

I preordered it, used to have it. But, realized I wouldn't enjoy the money. Decided it should go to someone else who will need it more than I do. I sold it new, decided to not keep it as investment. Sold it close to what I paid for, I don't regret it thankfully. Keeping what I don't love, is like hoarding.

I don't know this show. The packaging is awesome indeed! The TV series I love when a was young was Ulysse 31. A awesome sci-fi serie but isn't available in Canada in BD even less in 4K, sadly.

It's not a show. It's a movie.

I also preordered it and paid about $40. But now that’s it’s no longer in print some sellers are charging ~$200.

@@GeorgeTheaterAtHomeOK but current scalper prices have nothing to do with the original retail cost. Your title is misleading and perpetuates the misconception of physical media being prohibitively expensive.
