I'm a trucker and been running fema loads to New Orleans bringing water and generators. But I wish these people would've left when they had the chance. Makes no sense to ride out a storm and try to survive on little to nothing.

@@mastervz4806 not all the way true. Reporters did interviews with some that stayed. Desperate times call for desperate measures so to say. I know it's not easy but there were shelters hotels...one thing about a storm like that is they warn you several days in advance of the impact of the storm. It gives them time to evacuate. I wouldn't want to leave my house either but I'd rather live to see a sunny day

Hello from Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. I'm just north of Grand Isle. It's hard to believe it's been a year already and still so much damage. But, we're coming together stronger. Nature is unpredictable but at the same time what do you expect when you live in a place that’s below sea level. The French established Louisiana as a colony and sold the land to America and we’ve continued to this day living there with continuous damage from storms. I mean at some point you have to say enough is enough and either move in land or just have house boats set up instead so at least your homes will float when you have a major storm.

True. I work in Tokyo and last year we had a powerful typhoon heading straight for the city. The supermarkets were emptied. Tokyo has also built a massive underground area that can take tons of water. Rivers also have blocks they can put in place to stop storm surges. But still we had lots of damage and some dikes on the rivers broke causing some flooding. Since Katrina they have been making improvements. All the dikes around New Orleans were reinforced. None of them broke, there was very little flooding in the city. A hurricane that strong there is going to be some damage. And few died compared to Katrina. It now sounds like more died in the north than in Louisiana.

One of the last things that my grandfather taught me was that people who claim that the end is near lack the wisdom of the generation before them. As someone who had lived through both world wars, spanish flu, and the great depression, he told me that people today don't realize how good we actually have it. He told me that he had heard tellers of the end of time for his entire life, and as he grew older and wiser, he understood how clueless these tellers actually are.

I believe so. The end of July till early August, there have been countless abnormal storms and disasters. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoeXqYNmo613rpY This video shows countless disasters all happening in such a short time. Climate change is getting more severe, even the UN has issued code red or something.

2CHRONICLES 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

EXODUS 21:20-21 "Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property." At least your God drew the line at beating a slave so bad that it takes more than 2 days to recover. It is always preferable to have a god with clear boundaries.

Why? They can eat alligator and fish and shrimp and pretty much anything else and make it good. They have been for centuries. Maybe you should try it.
