OVER HYPED REACTION to BTS 'Outro : Ego' Comeback Trailer - JHOPE!!

The part where he says "life not as j-hope but as Jung Hoseok flashes by". He's talking about what his life would have been like if he hadn't become J-hope. You don't know this but before their debut Hoseok once actually decided to leave bts and walked out but thankfully he decided to come back, as it said in the lyrics he wonders what called him back to bts back then and call it his "fates choice". He's saying in his life just as Jung hoseok his dance would be like chasing ghost, he'd be living "full of regrets" and "without hope till I die" (literally, there wouldn't have been a j-'hope')and wondering what he is even breathing for since he wouldn't be part of bts and wouldn't have his music. But he's also saying that time flows forward and no matter how hard it had been for him after seven years (bts has been a band for seven years) and can without doubt say that he is on the his "way", the path he was meant to be on and that through these hardships he has found himself, his "ego" and can now "just trust myself". They literally went to back to the very beginning of their music career as bts and re-incorporated it into their new music because they are mapping our their soul and their soul is their music

This Outro EGO, really hits me a lot.. since the 1st 5 sec, when the intro start, i just start screaming and cryin'.. i mean i know they start from Persona with the intro from the past, but Ego used the very 1st intro, which is from their debut when Big Hit introduce BTS in 2013.. and then when the song starts, it just makes me happy.. I just spent like 5 hours going through most of your videos and I gotta say, it was really fun watching your journey from curious reactors to people who genuinely try to dig into the meanings of their music and performances! The whole not regretting your choices and just going forward really gets me with Jhope saying it...idk if you know already but there was a point before debut where Jhope almost left BTS! (it was really hard for them as trainees as you know) Jungkook even cried with him when he said he was going to leave...but Namjoon said that without Jhope BTS would never make it and convinced him to stay and persist....thats why that "life not as Jhope but as Jung Hoseok passes by" really hits you, cuz he almost never became Jhope! But he made his choice and stuck to it not matter what, and that got him here!

The beginning is actually a throwback to their debut trailer. The sampling is from 2 cool 4 skool. There were numerous clues related to the storyline and shout outs to his solo work and even a callback to their Kingsman concept. And baby Jhope, I squealed! This felt like an advanced birthday gift for me for tomorrow. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Ego by the way isn't the ego we usually talk about, but one of the archetypes from Carl Jung's Map of the Soul theory. Suga and RM have that technical background that I totally respect. They're awesome. But J-Hope is my bias because he's the most on-point dancer, he can sing, and he sounds raw and hype as hell with his rapping vocals. I really dig that raspy vocal quality he uses in verses, he's got tons of presence, combined with a flow that always plays around with the beat. I'm still relatively new to BTS (been almost a year), but the Mic Drop Remix solidified J-Hope for me when I heard it. In my opinion he's the most solid rapper on that track, with that dynamic and intense flow. Plus...he's got an unwavering positivity about him in general. I think the world could use more of that, especially now.

Has anybody mentioned how beautiful Jung Hoseok's silhouette is in the beginning. His head looked perfect and his smiles were so charming throughout the whole mv. I am Hobified!😄 I am sure somebody will put this in their explanation video but if you didn't know, the four deities shown during Hobi's "Oh, my God" are also connected to him which is why his face was on them. I don't know if the order of their appearance has any significance (you never know with Big Hit) but it's as follows: Odin, the Nordic God of wisdom, poetry, death, divination and magic. 14:12 the dancing in the video was completely improvised by jhope, there was no choreo for this and you can see that in the behind the scenes on bangtantv 11:30 i think that might be him looking back at when he first started dancing and the point of it all. bts get accused of plagarism and copying other artists’ work, what if he was asking himself if he was being true to who he was and what he wanted or if he was just following in the footsteps of some other korean dancer or idol and being their ‘ghost’. OR following the ‘ghosts’ of the past and not being original with his own work. i think in that specific part of the song he questions his own originality and what he wants, he addresses his insecurities in his work and looks back on what he wanted when he was still a child and what he’s become now. i don’t know anything about the visual symbolism in that part of the mv but it just looks like his self reflection ALSO the ‘7 years of anguish / oppressions over’ line could be him saying that bts and himself have worked incredibly hard to be where they are and should be allowed to relish in their success (which ties in with the title of the song itself) BUT they still manage to stay humble about it. i think this is jhope expressing not only his success but bts’ success as a group who was constantly (and still is) ridiculed for their dreams
