If I’m not mistaken that is not public land you were exiting your truck at a sign in box signifying private ownership. Block management program in Montana is a program that pays private landowners for access to property that would otherwise be off limits.

Public land that is planted crop? Just an agriculture lease or how does that work? Where I’m at in Alberta Canada there is almost no public land within 4-5 hours. I am beyond jealous.

State land can be leased for Ag. Pretty common.
