Don’t let societal or personal pressures stop you from moving foreword in life. It’s easy to get tied down by bullshit or drugs or something. I’ve spent months straight back to back high constantly and depressed.. I was kicked out of the Army and lost my scholarship to university. I had a 3.7 college gpa and had to leave. Life will change and plans will constantly be thwarted before they can see fruition. The strongest and most successful of people often take lessons from their failure and continue relentlessly on their pursuit of their own success.

I heard this song when I was 15 in my sophomore year. I was failing so bad I was thinking about dropping out because at that point I wasn’t sure if I’d pass. I was afraid of being held back and disappointing my parents. I was in a tuff spot suicidal to the max. I’m 16 turning 17 soon and still in school. Thank you David for showing me this song ill see you soon. After being forced into a private school by my parents in 9th grade i had no friends and was at the lowest point in my life. Halfway through the year i met David who was in 11th grade and was the only person that i could connect with at the school. We were both struggling with drugs and depression and soon became best friends... i even got him interested in guitar and we played everyday at lunch together. Towards the end of the year he was sent to rehab halfway across the country and i was left alone but looking forward to seeing him return. When he came back he was completely drug free and i was so proud. He told me that his parents were considering sending him to military school which was devastating news for me. He told me he would stay for me so i wouldnt be alone and we finished the school year together. After the school year David pretty much cut me off completely and dropped out of school and worked full time. I tried to reach out to him several times but he showed no interest in wanting anything to do with me. A few weeks ago i heard the news that he died to a drug overdose. I cant even comprehend how much you meant to me David. Now im back at my lowest and back on the same shit as last year before i met you. Im trying to do the right thing but no one cares. I miss you David. im tired and dont really see the purpose in continuing.

I first found Brakence with the drop of his "fuckboy" video w/ only 4k followers on Soundcloud & immediately put all my friends on to him- because of how distinct, raw, and unique his sound was. I fell in love with all his music and heard all of his discography off of Acid which just solidified my love for his music. Seeing him hit 1mil on this video gives me this sensation of wanting to cry like I'm a proud parent or something.. kid went from being another artist on SoundCloud to being recognized in the underground community for how different and NEW he is- in a matter of only a couple of months. It's inspiring to be honest, especially considering how long he's spent locked up in his bedroom just experimenting with new sounds & ideas, PERFECTING his own unique sound.
