If you unlock 81 tiles, I like the idea you mentioned of possibly developing a second metropolitan center in the region as well as continuing to dot additional small towns/villages in some of the more challenging parts of the map. It’ll really flush out the region as irl that coastline/ flat area around that river would 100% be developed as there’s no forest there and the city as it stands has so many amenities and jobs that it’d grow pretty heavy in that direction down the coast. Excellent build. Not a huge fan of a couple of those cable car lines ngl…especially cuz a couple of those lines probably would’ve never been developed due to the expense of the infrastructure needed (particularly the one with the unreasonably high pillars), but otherwise great episode nonetheless as always. Looking forward to the next one.

Love to see some cable car systems, they are slept on in the game and can work so well in mountainous areas. If you are using cable car to get on top mountains other places I'd suggest running it up the steepest side of it, and then having road access winding up from the backside of the mountain (how it works several places in real life). And so great to see my movie poster in this beatiful city! 🥰

I love those cinematics at the end. Moving through the entire city in all its glory! Would be great to see more cinematics like that, now that the city has gotten so big. It's a nice reminder of all the work you put into it, and it's great to see the builds from many months ago.

There are two most obvious downfalls of cable cars. 1. They need a road, so for a mountainous stop like on Mad Mountain, you have to build a road that is often really really steep, and makes the cable car obsolete. 2. They need electricity, so for remote stops (again, mountainous ones) you also need ugly pylons, unless you play with the 81 tiles mod.

What a great episode with cable cars, tours, walking p..., a self-icinerating girl and the Atomic Wolf! Maybe the Mad Mountain needs some more attractions on top, so people are more attracted to go there. Maybe the game's attraction score is not high enough compared to how far it is from everything else (which is a shame!).

Orchid Bay looks so good! So walkable! And I had forgotten how much i like the approach to the interchange near Creasy Gardens. Nice work as always, Egg. Maybe the carparks are historical sites - like when they were excavating to make them they discovered the remains of the founding Karen/Sharon's families or the remains of the BBQ where it all started to go wrong. But the council just went ahead and built over it and popped a little sign or statue up to commemorate and called it done (because corporate $$).

You know it's going to be a good episode when you're laughing a minute into it. Yeah, the sightseeing tours are a decent aesthetic. The busses and depot look good and the stops and some detail, but functionally they are on the level of taxis.

Few Candy's park looks vert nice. Reminds me of the Acclimatation Garden in Paris a bit with that railway going through it. The intermediate pillars on the first section should be higher for a more regular slope and keep the cablecars higher above the terrain. Added aesthetic bonus, raised cablecar pillars are much nicer looking as well. They appear only if you raise them manually. Second cable car to Downtown Heaven should go from train station to train station for added connectivity.

The lookouts are for tourists so you need good access to tourist transport. Also what about setting up a walking tour up to the lookouts? That will get people up there.

37:20. Maybe another down ramp pedestrian pathway on the pedestrian overpass which leads right to the intersection. This might promote sims to go up and over. By deleting the dirt path you also cut the access for the sims to go up and over the top.

the issue with cable cars is that you get a maximum of 5 cable cars per station I think. you can't add more so the longer the distance between 2 cable car stops the less frequent the service is.

Big yes please for 81 tile cracking, and an even bigger yes please for a second metropolitan centre! Cable cars aren't my cup of tea, the real-world application limitations and general cost of infrastructure kinda sad it for me, but if it helps more children immolate themselves atop the finest viewpoint in the city, I guess I'm all for it 🤷‍♂️🤣 Sightseeing and walking tours are definitely something I've never really thought about myself, I'd be interested to see how well they work as the series rolls on. I think cable cars are a great asset to have if you have a purpose for them. In my case, they transport people straight from the central train station to a mountaintop nature park (and exclusive restaurant, and the Chief Ranger's aerie). The cable cars in the game aren't a bad asset at all, even in vanilla (other than the wonky physics). And they do carrry a surprising number of people!

I think with the cable car connections you can raise them/elevate them higher like power lines, to try and get away from all the cutting into the mountains. Great build as always. 👍😁

Love it! I *think that the terrain issue is because you connected the top directly to the bottom. If you add a couple stands on the side of the mountain, it changes the angle and terraforming.

with the tours, i think tourists prefer to use them so i tend to have stops near large transport hubs or stations. seems to work for me but may just by because of large amount of people in those areas

I think a cool name for the cable car from bifford gardens to the fun park could be called the “bifford bahn” or the “häven bahn” as bahn in German is railway or transport line and I feel like that might work for this area

You know what's funny... we have a large sea port here that offers limited tours of the facility. My wife just told me this week that if I want to go on one of the tours next spring, she needs to put my name in now. How is a tour of an industrial port that popular? I think people just like to see big boats and cranes doing port stuff, I guess. Dunno.

I would so watch a small series challenge for a city/town based on cable transport -- cable cars and trolleybuses all the way! Maybe in a boreal map because those tend to be hilly/mountainous and would justify their use very well. :)

I love cable cars, I try to include them in all my games. They are excellent with mods for highering and sloping the lines etc. Sadly, there are not many mods and repaints for them on the Workshop

i one built a city with only cable cars as public transport for longer distances. It works very well. I had a hub in my city, where all of my cable cars came together. It was a very busy area in my city
