my 48v mod has been running for 2 years. Doubled the tyre diameter and pulls like a train. Its a bad idea using solenoid, I made my own mechanical speed controller simply switching up 12v 24v 36v 48v originally and that toasted the drive gear too much instant torque, you can get a decent 48v 200amp for a couple of hundred and you get re gen!. I used mine to bring back rocks for the garden on a trailer 400kg at a time from 4 miles away about 20 runs!. Original motor is a 950 watt but thats continuous rating, at 200 amp 48v thats drawing like 10hp+!. Key is a large ally heat sink on the motor under normal use flying around the woods it doesnt even get as warm as your bath water. Oh and I have two trailer seats for the kids too!.

LMAO!! _"When this baby hits 88, you're going to see some serious stuff!"_ I have to say that this was a scream! In a way, it's a shame that you couldn't have incorporated onto that, some kind of switching system which started it on a lower voltage and then kicked-in the rest of the juice after a few seconds-or-so. Having the whole lot go full-on resulted in the inevitable.... You popped it! You even got flaaaames in the back of it. It's interesting really..... I thought to myself: _"Any moment now, that thing's going to go flammable supernova like a vac motor connected across the brushes"_ ..... and it did. :D By the looks of things, the direct-on-line characteristic of the motor appeared to produce quite a bit of grunty torque. Again, having some kind of system which started halfway and then went full-on after a few seconds would have helped to reduce or eliminate this effect. Overall though, it looks like you had some TOP FUNN with that old scooter before the motor gave up the ghost in a little whimper of fire. Very good, Mr. Photon. Next time: Flux Capacitor. :D Thanxx for showing, -BoomBoxDeluxe. _20th October 2015, 02.36_
