Overcome | A Western States Endurance Run Story

After a series of events in 2012, Randy Van Dusen toed the line at his first Western States Endurance Run. With his K-9 officer, Bodie, by his side, he finished his dream race. Little did he know that the next year he would have the opportunity to run it again, and did.
After many years of qualifying and entering the lottery, in December 2022, Randy Van Dusen's playing card was drawn at the Western States Lottery. He once again would toe the line in Olympic Valley. What would the day hold? How would the 2022 story end?
It's not the destination, it's the journey. To overcome sadness, to overcome illness, to overcome life's challenges. To finish the races in life with our family and friends by our side.

First of all, thank you for your service. I’m just starting to watch her hour long KZbin video and I’m already tearing up with you and Bodie. I just want to say I’m 12 minutes into this and you’re everything a policeman should be. I’m retired and Auburn I just learned about this race I do not run but I love events like this.
