One of the few videos that I don't agree with... A child who is 15 or younger has a 5x higher likelihood of dying in labor or from pregnancy as a grown woman of 19. It was extremely common in the old times for young girls to die in labor, largely because their bodies weren't developed enough.

Summary: In this video, Sadhguru discusses the issue of abdominal fat in women and its impact on their health. He emphasizes that women need to take extra care of their health due to their complex reproductive system. In the past, physical work and early childbirth helped maintain women's health, but modern lifestyles have led to abdominal fat accumulation and various health issues. Sadhguru recommends practicing intense Hatha Yoga from a young age to maintain reproductive health and balance the body's chemistry. He also mentions that urban women face additional stressors, and yoga can help bring balance to their body chemistry and handle stress. Sadhguru believes that practicing yoga is essential for future generations to prevent rising health problems among women.

That’s exactly what he’s saying. Many women do suffer from trauma, which is why these certain practices and breathing techniques are essential. These practices release trauma that has been pent up for years of inactive energetic flow. This is actually why cancer is caused as well. We must come to an understanding that if we blame our abusers and and say “I’m this way emotionally and chemically because this person abused me,” then we are giving them the power to be abusers. And we don’t give ourselves the power to change, because something is always someone else’s fault. My intention is not to be insensitive, but this is the nature of the illusion and how reality works. Many women will not be able to unblock themselves in this lifetime or maybe not even the next two or three to come, but every experience that we have, even the hard ones, are meant to make us go deeper within to find the unity in what is perceived as “experienced.” You get to a certain level where you realize nothing is being experienced… you are simply the still, blissed out witness of life moving within and without you. In order for that state to become manifest in each and every individual consistently without wavering, we MUST take the steps to release those traumas, which in turn gives the “ abuser”a more correct karma for his or her own evolution of their soul. Not releasing trauma is allowing then to stay in control. It’s just the mathematical, vibrational way of creation.

Yes and no. Fat is more important for women than men. The skeletal structure of women is also different especially in hips side. Where most fat is stored in women. For men only 3% fat is essential but for women it's 11%. Obviously you can maintain a flat, toned stomach at 11% or more as well. But in women, fat is important for hormonal functions. Otherwise it causes imbalances. Since most diseases like pcos, thyroid, etc are hormonal imbalanced. In men 3% is essential, but it's not completely healthy. 9-12% is preferable cause then it shows body also has required muscle mass. 3% is only mentioned cause it doesn't cause much hormonal changes in men. Otherwise fat is important for us humans. To hold our internal organs together is literally the main function lol

Woman in the past, whether we're talking 4000 BC, 100 BC, 0, 1000 AD did not go through 7, 8, 9 pregnancies. The average was still around 2 pregnancies. Even though this video isn't specifically addressing Indian woman, Sadhguru is probably primarily addressing this video to Indian women. There is data that suggests that the fertility rates around 1950 were as high as 6 children on average, while today it's back to 2 children on average. Even though I am a hatha yoga fan and this comment isn't meant to discourage people from doing hatha yoga, I'm not sure there is a direct correlation between welbeing and this particular yoga practice. The average life expectancy in India was 40 y/o in 1950 and it's around 70 y/o noawadys. No need for defensiveness or retaliation. You can simply ignore my comment. I'm just applying some gool ol' fashioned skepticism before I start sharing the video to my friends. Have a wonderful day!

Whichever origin you are from try to know the practice of your ancestors for better life and reuse it. As for Indians I believe it was the lifestyle with physical work.. All the problems we go through today were faced differently and was solved, we just don’t have the resources to guide us.. Nothing is going to change until we move around. Yoga is good for overall body but it is not a one solution to all the ailments.

Other than that I eat nuts and vegetables. Only drink water, coffee, and tea without milk or sugar. If you're vegan have your vit.B12 and a good source of omega-3 fatty acids (like algae oil), maybe vit.D if you're a nightshift worker or not out in the sun much, and you're good. Needless to say that true enlightenment is synonymous with simplicity, humility, sagacity, and wisdom - as exemplified by the legendary gurus of yesteryears - like Lord Gautama Budha and Swami Vivekanandji - for instance - among others ! For such divinely traits, they are still being remembered by the people and held in very high esteem ! Someone of the caliber and brilliance of Lord Gautama Budha and Swami Vivekanandji is born only once in several centuries ! It goes without saying that it's not absolutely necessary on the part of someone to indulge in - any sort of chest - thumping - or - shout from the rooftop - to get noticed ! Real greatness comes out into the open on its own ! No one can cover it up for long - however hard and long one may try ! How right was someone in his assessment in saying - "Respect has to be earned ; not commanded !"

Young women do not need any more lectures about improving their physical appearance, especially about the abdominal region of the body. Remember that Sadhguru's "business" is yoga, and even his "inner engineering" program is body-based (I've done it). I have had certified women yoga teachers who had "belly fat." My mom had belly fat, yet she was healthy and lived to 87. Getting rid of belly fat should not be an issue directed at young women as an additional source of stress for them. What Sadhguru says in this video is full of contradictions, such as saying that city life is stressful but doing exercise before going to work in an office all day is not enough because people used to work in the fields all day (so what do we do about that?); and that women not having babies before the age of 22 causes body problems in the reproductive area of health, but it 's very good that the age will probably rise to 35. Focusing on the body identity is identifying with the ego, the "little self." Our true identity is in Oneness and wholeness with all beings and with our Source. If we correct our mistaken thought of separation from each other and from our Source in our identity, all else will follow. We are one, and "belly fat" is inconsequential in our healing by knowing our truth within.

@@lillili77 Hi Lillili, Thanks for the clarification. Was that question stated in this video? I didn't hear it. In any case, I don't think that young women need to be afraid that abdominal fat is going to ruin their health -- we already have too many fears being pushed on everyone to keep them stressed, as Sadhguru himself says toward the end of the video. One more worry on a mountain of hundreds. Let's keep focused on escape from fears and the recognition of our true selves.

@@Gil_Gamesh yes belly fat is an indicator or other health issues. In terms of the jab during that time the foundation was emphasising people to raise their immunity and they offered various methods including a yogic practice and a herbal concoction. @@universesixhit642 Toxic masculinity is unfortunately a good concept with a terrible title. It is about all of the harmful aspects of masculine culture (boy's don't cry, the only manly negative emotion is anger, boy's should be more on the loner side and not be too vulnerable to friends, a man's worth is in their work/career, if you aren't macho tough you are less of a man, etc) which harm men before they harm women. It is not the idea that masculinity is toxic, nor that any of these things are men's fault - in fact they have it beaten into their heads since birth, how could it be? The point is we as a society have to change this and allow men to be more emotionally expressive, more socially supportive, and have more range of possible accepted personality.

This is why a when a girl becomes 16, she is always married to a proper man in olden days. It's not abuse or superstition, it's science from our ancestors

Judaism has a lot of similar apologetics for keeping women out of the way and keeping all communal power in the hands of men. And just like this, they pretend it's based on biology. But it's really their projection on women of what biology means. Example: reproduction is using the system for women but sex is using their biology for men. In fact health problems in men are just as serious and fatal, rising. The earth itself is sick. That is why we are sick.
