What a fantastic answer for a student. He could have just said "be a vegetarian, don't eat too much and chew properly", but he has really gone to the length of everything that surrounds issues relating to being a student and issues around food. He does it in such a caring way. He knows that its not really the question of "what should I eat?", it's "why am I tired?" "why is it hard to engage with my studing?" and so on

Summary: Sleep is the way of body to rest itself. It needs less rest if: 1. It spends little energy on digestion process. This can be achieved by focusing on what you eat and how you eat. Let Atleast 40 to 50 percent of your food be live food. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, sprouts etc. Even better if it's not cooked and eaten raw atleast once a day. 2. The mind is not agitated through the day. 3. Right posture of the spine.

So sometimes its good not to eat in the morning at all if you always seat behind the desk. and when you feel very hangry, something light depending on where you are will do. The educational system around the world should know this and instill this in students before they get into the coporate world. this little things are what most successful people do differently that makes them different.

Umm, according to yogic sciences, we must eat properly in the breakfast, less in the lunch, and even lesser in the night. Even Sadhguru did not say one must eat less, he said to eat right. Eat the food that will give nutrition without excess dead matter. Say you can get X amount of nutrients from an a fruit platter, and the same X amount you can derive from a heavy meal at a fast food center or cafe, you should go with the fruit platter. Because the other meal is having some unnecessary matter to be processed, just so that you squeeze out that required X amount of nutrients. And generally raw or semi-cooked veg food has the least amount of dead matter. It is fine even if you eat more, but simpler food whose level of complexity is not up to that of an emotional animal. Also, one must club this with different exercises in Yoga, like the Shambhavi Mahamudra, to achieve best results but because this is a college with busy students, maybe Sadhguru didn't talk much about that exercise.

Don't miss your sleep. It could drive you crazy. Eat properly, live a balanced life, but please don't take it to extremes. This personally happened to my brother, who is now bipolar because of listening to this advice. Live a normal life and protect your sanity please.

Chinese Food mostly contains raw dead food i.e dead meat on any living creature which moves around you and doesn't contain much of a living creature that does not move hopefully like plants.

Life is simple. It always has been. It's us who make it complicated. Sometimes all it takes is to let things unfold. It's easier to see reflection in calm waters.

Sadhguru must be given the nobel prize in biology for this amazing 3 hour sleep routine. Sadhguru is actually lord Vishnu's incarnation. Sadhguru was Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in his early life. Sadhguru is the one only capable leader who can be rhe Indian prime minister. Nobody else is capable enough.

Don't think the right food and posture is enough, you also have less/no stress if you want to decrease sleeping time (safely).

The most logical and rational explanation to food habits. But to win over taste temptation one needs something more than logic and rationality. Hence practice yoga. Spread the wisdom.

My natural posture has always been sitting cross-legged/ or lying on the floor. For home-work/ reading and eating it has always been the most comfortable. But I grew up and live mostly in western culture, so everybody expects you to sit on a chair with the legs hanging down, which made my spine and muscles week. Also playing Piano and therefor sitting on a bench a bunch of hours a day did their part. That is something I am discovering with 30something and nobody ever told me before... I know that going to toilet in squatting position is the healthiest, but that eating in the position I always felt most comfortable with (for example sitting on the floor and having a chair as a table with food) and in which most asians, indians and other non western people do it, is beneficial- this is new to me! I will rearrange our eating space, so every guest may try to sit differently!
