Wife & I got a cruise booked for April 2021 and I'm already shitting bricks cos we have to fly to the cruise terminal. Its over 8 months out and I'm already stressed & panicked. Sucks even more so because while we'd be on the cruise, I won't be able to enjoy it cos in my head I'll keep saying "In 9 days I have to get on a plane", and the return flight is the one that always scares the shit out of me.

You put yourself in the shoes of others to understand how they can be frustrated,worried, scared .... then explain in a “ down to earth “ manner how their issues can be overcome. Best on u tube! Thanks, and keep up the good work

Never had the fear. I love flying. Flying down to Orlando, FL from Ottawa Ontario Canada tomorrow! Best part of the trip is the flights! Looking forward to my first ride on a 767 on the Toronto to Orlando leg.

Let’s overcome your fear of flying.. But first we have a cargo fire, nothing to worry about..

Lol, ya I was thinking I probably should edit that part out but I was pleasantly surprised the fire test bell worked in that sim. Its a cool tool to have available to shoot in......

I always loved to fly however I did have one of those rare flights of terror with crazy turbulence that makes the evening news. The pilot accidentally came on by accident and said the words "strange turns" that was it! Wasn't very comforting bc sounded like airplane wasn't working for him. At any rate years later its gotten better but a lot of it is control and understand what the pilots are doing. I really want to learn to fly b/c I really do love it when my brain doesn't get out of control with negative thoughts. Thanks for this video! Hope I can learn from someone like you!

How do you get used to G force and air turbulence? I really really want to fly solo but when I did a parachute tandem jump the flight was more terrifying than the jump, just because of the G force and turbulence.

I am not afraid of flying, but there is a noise I can’t identify. On Boeing 737s at least on the -700 series, sometime before engine start there is a noise that sounds a bit like a piston air compressor, though a bit faster than a typical compressor. It might go on for a minute or two, but stops before engine start. Any idea what that might be?
@askcaptainscott4 жыл бұрын
Im not a 737 pilot but that might be the APU bleed air valve opening to supply high pressure air to the engine for start...Or it could be a hydraulic pump for the brakes. Next time im riding on a 737 Ill listen for it.

Great series many thanks. Is it possible you could explain difference between the normal barometric altitude and GPS altitude also what is a microwave type of approach?

easiest way to over come the fear of flying is to drive down the highway or get on a boat if needed

It's convenient to lie to nervous passengers about strange sounds as well but one has to do it with a cool head. NERVOUS LADY: Oh my gawd! What is that I just saw fly past our window?? LYING PASSENGER: Don't worry about it. Airlines release a secret Captain look-a-like at times to test how long it takes to get to the accident site to rescue people. They do it all the time

What scares mean isn’t the technology. It is the remote idea that one of the pilots is mentally unstable so they deliberately crash the plane…
