I faced it all here on Long Island, NY. Every congregation I attended was full of gossip, slander, bossiness. I estimated 70% of all attendees aren't Christians but congregants. A recent Pew Research poll revealed that 70% of those who considered themselves Evangelical Christians said that Jesus Christ is NOT the only Way to God the Father! So, I'd hit the percentage right on the head! They tend toward believing that Justification & Sanctification are separate (i.e., you can sin all you want because Jesus had already paid the price for your sins--what deception!). The only Evangelical groups worthy of support are places like the Bowery Mission, 700 Club's Operation Blessing, World Help, Voice of the Martyrs, Christian Appalachian Project, Salvation Army, Open Doors, Prision Fellowship & such. These people are "prayed up" and have no time to waste on a Donald Trump or politics to preserve their little lives! And I'm back in the Catholic Church as a result! It does not separate Justification & Sanctification, with all its faults! On top of it all, Evangelical CONGREGATIONS today are basically run by women--it's a decidedly feminine spirit which runs them. The balance is gone!
