You are not alone, as someone who lives in GÖTEBORG right now but originally from kenya I understand you. In fact am going through the same situation as you. It’s like this feeling of being so alone in dark room. You are not alone. Keep up the conversation. It’s inspiring

Meditations are wonderful and very helpful. I feel asleep last night listening to a KZbin Jason Stephenson. I had to start with this type of meditation because I was not able to be in the present moment. Now I am able to focus in the moment..not always but it's definitely easier.

Talking about your depression is really bringing awareness to something that people in the US just don't talk about because people tend to judge. Getting into the sunshine is natures medicine along with your purpose in life is going to drive the depression into a shorter cycle as you mentioned. ✌

Thank you so much for making this video. Depression is a silent thief, and should we should try to understand it all together. I am from an Island but spent time in France, and I always viewed Sweden as like a paradise. Can't explain why, but I am attracted to Scandinavia, it's people, it's landscape, some stories of people and they happened to be Swedish and Scandinavian. I am a very sensitive person and found out I have a good connection with Swedish friends I met in France (but maybe they don't represent all Swedish people). Before watching this video I would have assumed that depression was better understood in Sweden maybe. I love what you said about "having a common purpose", is it not the case in Sweden? I read somewhere that, sensitive people (and sometimes the depressed ones), could be like "sentinels". Being sensitive is not supposed to be a curse, rather those people have a high sensitivity to things, environement, they just sense better. They feel more. They are the ones understanding the needs of a tribe, helping children and carrying for the olders. But, that works in a society where everybody watch their backs, like a wolves pack. Instead we live in a society more about the individual. I too, felt really really good in places where the values where more about "all together", improving the environment, finding solutions..etc rather than just finding a job to contribute to a system, fit in. Anyway, thank you so much for opening and talking about it. I am watching many many testimonies, and trying to figure out this "signal". For me depression has a reason (meaning, it's not normal to let it spread, but we need collectively to understand it). Like a pain in your body, if you have pain maybe you do something that you need to change. But depression is more subtil, and I guess it has to do with how WE live in our society. I am trying to find real meaningful understanding. And we can do that together, first by talking, breaking silence. It's like a common enemy. Break the taboo, so many people have it. In every country, even in "happy countries". Amazing story, you look really cool too! Hope you felt good today, and thank you for sharing because you contribute to a greater good by doing so. Have a beautiful day today. =)

And, if it's not too personal of a question, did you have affectionate parents, or a good childhood in Sweden? Thank you! =)

You know I’ve was watching videos about Sweden 🇸🇪 to learn more about the culture. I would feel depressed living there as well. It’s said Swedish people don’t talk to strangers and the only way people connect is if they are drunk and hook-up. It seems to me void of real human connection. I know Sweden values the “individual” hence people dressing in muted tones and the money not being shared i.e. not paying for a friends meals or a women’s meal (date) because everyone is “individual,” and pays for themselves. What happens all this leaves out a sense of community, connection, and possibly a purpose seems to dissolve with an “individual” mentality . I sense a heaviness about Sweden on a emotional level. We’re human and we all need connection, if a culture teaches to repress your emotions, don’t talk to strangers, don’t extend yourself, a part of your humanity dies. Obviously your soul is pushing against this convention in Sweden; your a square hole trying to fit in a round peg. I get your sadness, heck I feel the heaviness of the culture through u-tube videos. Kenya 🇰🇪 is the complete opposite, it about sharing all your resources helping your brother or sister when their down, with your emotions, spirituality, and sometimes money. It’s about talking to strangers, smiling, letting joy resonate for all to see. It sounds the culture in Sweden beats that out of people. I’m sorry you feel sadness and hope your heart ❤️ is full with joy and light again in 2020. Thanks for sharing!! Love from Canada 🇨🇦

thanks for your comment! It seems you have done a good research. I agree connection is of great importance. Have not been depressed since April last year as I started joining a really nice church community. Connection to others and to God seems to be the trick for me. (took me 10 years to figure out)
