Of course I watched this after I planted mine. It’s only been in the ground 3 weeks. I think I might dig it up and replant it so the root bulb is deeper.

You could do that, and if so, make sure to water it well when you replant it. Alternatively, a better option (since it is now probably beginning to get rooted in), might be to mound up an inch or so, of extra compost and soil mixture in a ring around your plant, this will allow the plant to make new roots up nearer the surface. The reason for the deeper planting is to allow the plant to have a cooler crown and also break from lower down inside the crown if anything were to happen to the top growth. Clematis love, is a cool root system (something that David refers to in this video (also on this channel), here's a link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGecl4Ntp5VgbdEsi=uexfD7NfsptrYfzI that will explain. That's why putting down a 2" deep layer of mulch and regular watering (until the plant gets established) is important. We hope this helps. Have you subscribed to our channel yet? If you haven't, you might like to think about it, because once you are subscribed, each time we post a new video (which we are doing all the time), you will find that they will turn up automatically in your feed. And, as you find our videos helpful, it would be great if you could kindly share the links with your friends and click the "like" button too, because that will help other people find out about the information as well. And, now that we are in the midst of the main planting season (spring through late Fall) try to visit our partnering garden centers: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/. They are located all over our Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region, and that's where you will find all sorts of beautiful, tried and true and cutting edge, top performing selections, so be sure to stop in regularly throughout the seasons because there will be a steady stream of fresh shipments coming in weekly.

@@OverdevestNurseries thank you for your advice. After watching several of your videos, I searched for a garden center near me that carries your plants and ended up at Flaggs Garden Center in Moorestown where they ordered me 2 new dawn rose bushes :) Thank you!
