Yeah, RL has caught up to me. I am pretty tired from work this year, so being playing some games and just don't have the energy to do videos. During covid a lot was done online, but now that my RL work is back with full contact (I work with IT and Education), it is more difficult to find the time to do videos as I am just a hell of a lot more busy. Indeed I am, well, maybe "fan" is a stretch. I do enjoy survival RPG games, ESPECIALLY open world ones. However, RPG and adventure type games is what got me years ago into the Elder Scrolls, though not owing to its lore, just the type of game. I don't recall playing the early games like Daggerfall. I started with Morrowind and Oblivion which I did on my first PC. I don't remember them much. It was only Skyrim that I played off and on, first from GoG, and then moved to Steam and played that, well, into oblivion. :) Okay, you now have me intrigued. I drop easter eggs and comments in my videos, however, this time around, i did not intentionally do that, especially for TES. So, the question is, what in my video provided you with an Elder Scrolls conclusion? I am most curious. :)

@@SnowBee Oblivion > Morrowind > Skyrim (like you the other games predate my playing such as Arena or Daggerfall but I have played them in recent years, however it isn't the same) You mentioned that you are a big Bethesda Fanboy, from that I made the judgement that you were a TES enjoyer, knowing I could've been wrong owing that they also make Fallout which I'd say is a little more similar to 7 days and STN, alas, that's the reason :) Also cracking job to the STN team, they just need a new world map and a new inventory system and updated zombie models and we're golden :P

@@SnowBee at the beginning for the quests, yeah, but they explain the mechanics of the added stuff well. But if you are unlucky, dont find beer, tarp or a table saw, you might never advance to some stuff. plus you need a lot of books for a lot of stuff. and a lot of dead Z for better weapons (if you don't find the right books to craft said weapons but need to do the skill unlock).

@@SnowBee Also There is a Mod Generator Called the Mod Gen GUI By Pseudo Posse I recommend Checking out If you haven't , its a 1 click Mod generator that allows people to Edit values and Tweak the game the way they want for their play style I'd love to see you do a review on it to give it more light because a lot of people don't have coding experience or know how XPath works and I really like the tool myself I think he's done a really great job on the tool and simplifying it even for the Inexperenced people that wanna play mods

Yeah, it has been made popular in the past two months. I have not looked at it at all unfortunately. As I do enjoy Fallout type gameplay, I do approve though :) Just I have not looked into it yet. I will do it at some point, but for now I am supposed to sort out an updated Darkness Falls feature guide. I also want to check out Rebirth.

Hey, what are your overhaul recommendations for boss fights, massive POIs and all around just large amount of custom content? I've only played Undead Legacy which I loved but looking for something that strays further from the vanilla feel (preferably also works in multiplayer).

Age of Oblivion has a number of large custom POI's, though I am unsure how stable it is with MP. Certainly Darkness Falls which generally is fine for MP. Rebirth I would also recommend, but it is not available for A21 yet.

What overhaul mod for someone who like to focus more on the “lifesim” side of the game? I just want to have my own homestead. Do some farming, my own cooking, tinker and build gadgets, get a car fixed up etc. Of course combat is important and a major part of the game so I still like combat… just not as much as the crafting/homesteading? Any suggestions ??

Hmm, okay, interesting question. I would suggest Darkness Falls or Undead Legacy. I specifically enjoyed base building in UL as all the workstations and additions really felt good and fun as I slowly progressed and upgraded. It is a bit of a grind to do all the upgrades and to even build a base, but certainly UL was the one that gave me those vibes. Hands down. Just remember, UL is not available for A21 yet. However, the A20 version is perfectly fine, and unlike some mods, as the mod is very well polished it is still very playable without A21. Darkness Falls, is also boasting a lot of workstations and elaborate crafting. Not as many and deep as UL, but it has the more detailed farming and various mechanisms that UL legacy does not have, such as irrigation. DF also has more foods than UL. UL has the vanilla ones and only a campfire currently, where DF has more options. With both mods you do not lose your seeds when harvesting. Which is better for combat? UL is close to vanilla, while DF is darkness falls... some connections but a million additional monsters, levels, and different types of zombies/demons. This was my first info video on DF many years ago, so it is ancient. I actually did the latest version install today. I only do the manual install though. Here is a guide on how to install manually: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaTYiWONlJKhjs0 Summary on installing: Make a copy of your 7 Days to Die folder. I just copy and paste it into my existing Steam folder. Download the A21-Wild-West-Mod-main.zip file. Unzip it, and either copy the "Mods" folder or move it to your 7 Days to Die copied folder. So you will then have your copy of 7 days to die, and under that you will have a Mods folder as well. Under the Mods folder is the A21-WildWestMod folder. If you already did that and still have problems, then I would suggest downloading the zip file again as it may have become corrupted on download or just partially downloaded.

One more thing the thing I get stuck on when installing manually is how to open a second window I've seen tutorials of KZbinrs doing that step but it doesn't show me how I am new to computers and would appreciate it if you can tell me how to open extra windows

@@adamwarner1548 If you are using Windows, then you either click the My Computer button, or Windows Explorer, or File Explorer, depending on your version of Windows. Either way, they will open a new Windows Explorer window. The short cut option, which I always use, is to press the "Windows" and the "E" key on the keyboard. The "Windows" key is the one usually between the Alt and Ctrl keys on your keyboard. It has a Microsoft Windows logo on it. So, if you press the "windows" and E key's together, it opens up a new window, which you can drag around with your mouse.

Is "WASTELAND a Fallout Mod" an expansion or a collection of mods? I did not see it mentioned here.

I mentioned it in an update during either September or October when it released. I have not reviewed it so I don't follow it much. It is certainly an overhaul like many others, however, it is mainly all work done by the dev, Bdubyah. He also does the popular Bdub Vehicle mod. He does use SphereIICore and the NPC mod, but from what I can see most of the content is his own code and creation.

Darkness Falls and Age of Oblivion have probably the most different models. However, Darkness Falls, you will only get to see many of the different models later in the game. By mid game you will see variations of the same models. Age of Oblivion, I think that has the most differences from day 1. Darkness Falls does have a current project to change most of the vanilla models, but you won't see that right now.

Hey Mephilis. I have not played it much in the past few days owing to RL stuff, so I am not getting around to it. I definitely noticed performance seems a bit worse, but from a vanilla point of view, and just a vanilla standpoint, I think it isn't bad at all. The challenges are not terrible and I like quite like them. The armour looks good and functions fine. I prefer the old armour system, but if the old system didn't exist, then I would have very likely said this armour upgrade was excellent. Overall, v1 is pretty good for a launch. Of course, certain aspects of it is not what I really enjoy, and so modding is certainly my way of improving it to something that I would find more fun.

Tried out the Oblivion mod and when I try to access my backpack it shows all the sections except for the actual backpack slots and inventory. I tried both mod launchers with the same effect.

Likely a mismatch in your versions. I had the same problem when I first tried out version 7 and realised I was using the current experimental at the time, and not the older stable version.

Well the best place to find them is on 7daystodiemods.com and nexus mods. I use the manual method of downloading a mod. I have an install guide which is mainly aimed at overhaul mods, but does function in the same way as a cosmetic weapon type mod. It is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaTYiWONlJKhjs0 Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Also, when you say cosmetic, you are just wanting the vanilla weapons changed? Or are you wanting additional weapons as well?

@@primalryquazaMods don't work usually as the folder structure is incorrect. So, whether you made a copy of main 7 Days to Die game or not, you would have a "Mods" folder under your 7daystodie folder. Under that, make sure you there is no "mods" folder again. So, under Mods, there should usually be one folder of the name of the mod you want to run. Each mod you are running would be a folder under the main "Mods" folder. I downloaded the mod, and opened it. It appears that all you need to do is extract the "Tactical Weapons-1997-A21" folder under "Mods". That should work. I am actually working now, so can't test it, so will try a bit later :)
