The Wasteland Mod has been released into Experimental (testing). 15 October: Afterlife has had its first update for fixes and some balancing. You can get the new version from the Mod Launcher. SnowBee's Hive discord has a link to the Afterlife discord or a direct link for the download.

afterlife has a major downside. the horde nights consist of only 3 types of zombies and become too easy with time. sad to see that potential wasted. oh well, what can you do?

@manoclocknews The mod has only just had its second update. Still early days and lots of balancing and features to go. There are already more zombie varieties coming as well.

I've been hanging out like crazy for Undead Legacy. I've played many overhaul mods and hands down Undead Legacy is my favourite. I was sad when it wasn't updated for A21 but my glimmer of hope is renewed hearing you say that SubQuake is working on it and a possible release this year. 😃😊 Awesome video SnowBee and thank you very much for the mod updates, I always scramble to hit the play button when you release a video, especially mod updates ☺️

Undead Legacy on 20.7 is still awesome, I've been playing it recently as I got bored of v1 quite quickly and I can say with assurance a better game than vanilla currently.

Undead legacy is even better than afterlife and darkness falls? I only have about 15 hours in game. Got back in a couple days ago. I want a good overhaul mod that adds new structures, decor, food items, armor sets, guns, etc. You'd recommend undead legacy over all others?

Hey Slingblade, yes, I hope the gun pack will be available for other overhauls, but it may not be in the end as it is really part of the EST overhaul. So they will likely only allow it for vanilla.

Love the updates! Thanks! I've been testing rebirth and it's definitely different from a21. Options are much more customized and I haven't found any serious bugs. It's still my favorite mod. I hope war of the walkers and undead legacy get updated soon, but for now, I'm happy with rebirth. It's a long enough play through to keep my attention.

Yeah, the impression I guess War of the Walkers will only get updated in the far distant future... maybe. I didn't mention it, but it is there in the text quote I added when talking about WotW. Dwallorde is not motivated to mod anymore, so unless that changes and players bug him a lot and see how he is doing, he may never bother again. Yes, I enjoy Rebirth a lot. I am quite torn between Rebirth and Darkness Falls, but may actually prefer Rebirth.

Great overview of all the upcoming mods! Definitely a few that I am going to try out. EFT looks like a really awesome setup and great weapons to try. I've been playing the EFT mod since it's release and there literally been one bug with a silver round ammo type. But no other problems. The amount of fun I've had with it have been amazing. Though there isn't much in the way of mod compatibility, some mods like Prepper go amazingly well together. Hight recommend it.

Yes, I think its gun pack is going to be well liked when it releases as a standalone mod. I don't know yet if it will be allowed to be used in other overhauls. The main overhaul part with all the perk and gameplay changes I am also hoping to look into more once it releases.

​@@SnowBee other overhaul mod authors can and should use the guns in their mod if they want to integrate them into their mods. It was always meant to be for other modders to use the gun resources however they want to. It just so happens that BryanDVS was the first person who worked with the resources actively. Maybe we'll see the guns in mods like UL or DF in the future.

Really nice summary, now to the decision of what to play? Just started vanilla 1.1 since I did stay in 21 until now due to a masssive building projects with friends. +300 ingame days digging and piping concrete tunnels😅😂 for a minibike "subway" around a big city.

About time someone Imported some BETTER animations, guns, etc to 7DTD. Vanilla animations are HORENDOUS by todays standards! The devs had over 10 years to improve, they barely have done anything. It's always the community / modders who actually put in QUALITY work with ALL games that I can think of hoenstly!! HUGE props to the mdo dev! Can't wait to hear the future excuses of Fun pimps, if there will be any. And yes I know they can't just take files/models/animations from other games but there certainly are ways to get them legally. Oh well, I'm just very happy to see this! Thanks for the video SnowBee!

10 years is crazy 😂they put all the energy into overhauling the game every year and patching the fun and creativity of the sandbox game. Then community modders proceed to unfuck their work and actually fix the game. Repeat for eternity. I don´t think that any of the mods that will take more time will make it before the storm brewing update tbh. Killerbunny said he hopes he get´s it done this year wich indicates it won´t be before december and the storm brewing update is also supposed to happen this year. DF also seems it´s not really close to release. Wouldn´t be surprised if it will be late January or even February for both seeing all the changes in the next update.

Yes, time is flying, but I hope to see two very big mods out before December. Undead Legacy and Rebirth. Unless RL messes with Khaine, which I believe it just could, experiemental should be out before December for Darkness Falls. Of all the mods, I think Apocalypse Now and Sorcery could be the mods that may end up in 2025. Fingers crossed.

The EF-Tarkov one I love the most as it gives you a SCRIPTED reloads! A tiny pet peeve of mine when reloads don't seem to line up. like fire once but put 8 shells when you just used one. also with that reloading, hope there will be a mode that will work the same way with vanilla weapons.

Now, that I don't think I have come across. I assume you mean the normal style is to start at one point and bash your way through a presubscribed route to the other end and get the loot? Nope, I think that is all we have. However, you can try Compo Pack mod which should release its new POI's at some point this year. They usually have 100's of POI's with all sorts of balanced, unbalanced and crazy options. Some amazing work and as mentioned some unbalanced stuff, but still it is well worth checking out when it releases.

Which mod in general would be best for really tough hordes? I like the idea of nothing too crazy as far as normal survival mechanics (afterlife seems really focused on that) but I just want to feel like i'm getting somewhere progression wise with the main focus being preparing for a much progressively harder horde

Rebirth, coming in a few weeks has a number of different types of hordes and unique boss hordes. Certainly Darkness Falls, but it is not out. Right now, possibly End Z and Preppocalypse. I am unsure about War3zuk, but that could be a possibility. "I am Legend" is out, but it is mainly based on quantity of monsters, I don't think they are strong, just large in number.

Amazes me how many people praise afterlife, I played on both survivalist and warrior and even after getting over the AI art, never had fun at any point. As a drinker, I drank tons of booze, used molotovs almost nonstop from day 1 as they are dirt cheap and will kill ferals in 1 shot(eventually)...I think he overtuned so many systems so that people will say his mod is hardcore without paying attention to what is fun...

I think it is not your thing. MANY people dislike Undead Legacy and that is not even close to the pain of Afterlife. I would never say Undead Legacy is a over tuned game. However, I do agree, if he wants to win over more people, then he will gave to tune it much more. I really find the mod difficult, but the only thing I dislike about Afterlife is the annoying zombies often not giving you a break. They often just keep rocking up and bugging you.

GA50! Thanks :) Yes, the Purge scenario which is in the Rebirth mod should be coming soon. I am sure it will be a nice more casual way to play the game as I don't always like the rush of the horde night and base.

@@SnowBee Honestly, Horde Night isn't my fave part of the game either. In my current series I've moved Hordes to every 10 days just to give myself time to do the other things that lead to progression, and enjoyment. Otherwise it's just build base, fight horde, repair base, repeat, with only a few days to do other things and travel to other towns.

Yes, my third of three videos was on irrigation, underground farming and hydroponics in darkness falls. However, for now, hydroponics replaces the need to do underground farming as it was previously done.

I started playing Escape from Tarkov, was enjoying it but then i ran into a bug where if I went by a POI then it would stutter and lag, I thought it was the mod so uninstalled it. I was even getting it on vanilla. I uninstalled the game and redownloaded it to which it was still happening. After searching the problem it turns out I had to turn off VSYNC and limit my FPS to 60. I've no idea why I've started having this problem. Hopefully it gets sorted soon. EFT seems a good decent mod, looking forward to playing it with all the gun pack.

Yes, I think the Rebirth purge scenario is going to find quite a following of people that don't want to do horde night, but feel bad about switching horde night off. Now it is a legit way to play without horde night.

Yeah, I struggled to find recent info. I actually started a script for my news video on it about two months ago, then scrapped it. I joined the devs discord, but didn't get any info either, just it was being worked on. I think the dev is Spanish. Anyway, a recent version was released about a week ago on the Mod Launcher. So I will likely cover it in my next news video.

Thanks :) Yeah, I will take a look at it and see what I can come up with, but I honestly think all hell is going to break loose soon with some of the biggest and most popular mods releasing. So if anything, I am unsure if I will do another general news video in October owing to some big names releasing. I will be covering them so may not have time. Sorry for the late reply, been so busy with IRL work this month. I would suggest either Darkness Falls (though it is still in experimental), or Rebirth. Unless you really want something more difficult, then Afterlife, certainly a brilliant overhaul, but the most difficult I have ever had to endure. I see you did watch my video on it.

@@austinstoner1988 If it was available for version 1, it would have been the first one I recommend. It is a good option if you want to still play it on Alpha 20, but we are still waiting for it to release for version 1. When it does it will likely kill the internet with so many that have been waiting for it. Certainly very popular and on my top 5 list of best mods. Still, you can play it on alpha 20 and get a very good sense of how it works, albeit, there are many changes for version 1. Huge changes and innovation. My best mod video is on Undead Legacy. If you do a search for Undead Legacy on my channel or look under the most popular vids, you will find my "What is Undead Legacy" video. It really is a well crafted mod.

I agree with you... it is very long. However, I just find the overall satisfaction of the reload and firing worth it. It brings a level of planning into your use of some of the guns. Not all guns have this, for example, those using magazines are quick. I also think perks can speed this up a bit. There are a large number of guns, so you may choose to not use some of the pistols, certain shotguns and some rifles. However, many handguns are quick with reload, using a cartridge. Many rifles, sub machine guns and assault rifles are also quick. Heavy machine guns, probably slow... but so is vanilla with its M60. You can speed it up. So yeah, I think you are correct, but there will be options. I think overall, the shotgun will be the one with the fewest options and you may need to alternate with another gun. Which is similar to reality (what the mod is going for). You want some quick heavy powered destruction close range... use your shotgun. Hopefully it got you out of trouble, and you can switch to something else... or bring two :) Just don't reload with a Feral Wight about to hit you :)

@@Shabbadu Sorry, the cutscene is not from Darkness Falls, I use that demon as it has very close similarities to the Demon Lord from Darkness Falls. I know the Demon Lord is getting a change or two in version 6, but the model should remain the same. So it will be similar to the one in the cutscene :)

Just tried to install the Aircraft Carrier Survival challenge via the mod launcher, and it keeps telling me the download failed. Looking in the logs, it says it has a blank URI and to try a reboot or AV exception, both of which I've tried repeatedly. Anyone run into that before? I couldn't find a direct download link for the mod either as quite happy to download and extract it myself.

My son had the same problem. I got the mod from the ML before there was an update and it works fine. I am pretty sure it is related to the game version itself. I don't think the mod devs have updated to the most recent version, so the ML will use whichever version is in your main 7daystodie folder.

I've just shuffled things around so the version in Steam is now up to date, and I'm still getting the same issue. What version number of 7DTD does your son (or you) have ACS running successfully on? Maybe it needs something earlier than 1.0?

Sorry, for only responding now. I forgot initially after reading your response, then got busy and after looking to see if I had missed any responses, realised I missed your one. I ran my Aircraft Challenge now, and it shows v1.0 (b336) in the top right corner. So that is an earlier v1.0, and now we have moved to 1.1 already. Now, this is where the plot thickens, as I see in my Mod Launcher, it shows an update is available. If I run the update, I am thinking it will go out of line with the game 1.0 version I am using.

to let people know the outback mod is currently broken. most non standard animals cant be killed no matter what. just tried this mod 5 days ago and we couldnt kill any australian animals other than a bat. i dont know if they know it or not so who knows when it will be fixed. oh yea and the random human mobs we couldnt kill eighter. shot one 10 times and ran him over 4 times and he still didnt die. thats too much hp or also unkillable. for context many zombies died with one car runover.

Yeah, I don't know what the reasons are, there are so many things to develop and create I guess, the modders are often using the assets that are put in place by the core game. So the modders don't have to develope the main game itself. However, my only criticism is probably I feel so many years have been lost owing to changing the game again and again. Some features really were fine as they were!

@TOVOTmarcolonna Yeah, I dont use the Mod Launcher much. But it can be useful. It will make a copy of your vanilla game, so add that size to the mod size. The mod is probably about 2 or 3 GB's. There is an alpha 21 guide in my description, but it is the same as version 1 in principle.

Completely different engine used, and currently there is no c# code used in mods allowed in 7 days to die consoles. Even the game itself converts c# code so it is not used on console. So, if there are mods, they will be limited.
